Petrolatum or commonly known as Petroleum jelly is a mixture of waxes and assorted mineral oils in a jelly-like state thus explains the name.
It was discovered in 1859 by a young chemist named Robert Chesebrough. In 1870, he opened his first factory and marketed Petrolatum or Petroleum Jelly as Vaseline.
Today, Vaseline is still as popular as ever. Most of us know that Vaseline or petroleum jelly is a type of skincare product, but did you know that it’s more than that?

1) Prevent paint stains
Don’t you just hate it when paint splatters all over the place when you’re re-painting your home?
There’s a quick fix for that. Just rub a bit of Petroleum Jelly on your hinges, door locks, and knobs, and you’re good to go.
This will save you a lot of time removing all those unwanted paint stains. Just wipe the Petroleum jelly with a dry clean cloth, and that’s it.
2) Grow out Healthier Lashes
Do you want to have healthy and fuller-looking lashes? Then, Vaseline can help you.
It doesn’t dramatically lengthen your lashes, but what it does is that it moisturizes your lashes for them to grow healthy, fuller, and darker.
