This is almost too accurate! 😂

Kids. One minute, they’re simply endearing. You look at your teens with awe at these creatures on the cusp of adulthood. Your tweens are quickly leaving behind their childhood and entering the throes of full-fledged teenagehood.

You remember their first step, first word and how sweet they were before they began leaving socks on the floor and crumbs on the counter. How they had that fresh baby scent before puberty hit when the boys began to smell like a mix between roadkill and feet and the girls like a perfume factory.

One minute, a teenage girl is besties with someone and the next thing you know, that person is the worst friend in the whole wide world. To keep up with their crushes you need a playbook.

And wow do teenage boys eat…and eat…and eat… And just how many outfits can a teenage girl try on in the morning? It feels as if you live in the laundry room and the kitchen when you’re at home.

Tweens have their own special set of annoyances that irk you no matter how much you love them. They seemingly can’t sit still and are awfully messy, too.

Younger kiddos get into things they shouldn’t, like your special tube of lipstick, and always seem to spill. And ketchup. It’s not a food group all on its own!

Oh the annoying habits that haunt you. You love these little blessings but why must they be like this? These tiny humans you love dearly really know how to push your buttons sometimes.

And you can either get upset or laugh and correct them. But one mom had something else in mind.

How many times do you have to tell them to turn down their music? If you can hear it blasting loudly past their AirPods, you know it’s damaging their hearing but try and tell that to them.

Why is it so hard to hit the laundry basket? The laundry makes it oh so close, but not quite. It’s sometimes hard to see the floor for all the laundry.

No phones at the dinner table. Is that a rule at your house? It’s as if the cell phone is an extra appendage that they can’t part with.

One awesome mom decided to use her time being quarantined with her kiddos to mimic the annoying habits they have been exhibiting while they’re all trapped at home together. The Canadian mom captured it all on video and shared it on Facebook where it’s gone viral.

Melissa Dilkes Pateras showed the world what it would look like if adults copied the things kids do and how ridiculous we’d look doing it. Parents totally related to the video and their comments are just as funny.

Facebook user Ayak Lang Beny Guop testified to being “stressed watching her.” Chelsea Wasden Irish could totally relate.

“God bless you for recreating my everyday life!!”

The video begins with Melissa attempting to haphazardly put a dab of toothpaste on her toothbrush that actually ends up being a giant glob smeared all over the countertop. Then she spits out her toothpaste all over the bathroom mirror.

You’ll cringe just watching her!

When kids finally decide to wash their hands, they delight in flooding the counter with foamy soap. It hits the faucet, the sink and the countertop. But how much actually makes it onto their hands?

Instead of grabbing the hand towel to properly dry off, Melissa dries off her hands on her clothes. Agh!

How many times have you told your kids not to use so much toilet paper? Melissa captures this scenario perfectly by unrolling a mile of toilet paper that makes everyone freak out during the coronavirus-fueled toilet paper shortage.

Many teens eat like a pig at the trough and the Canadian mom mimics this perfectly. She shoves pudding in her mouth and it’s smeared all over her face. She wipes her mouth on her shirt and smears it all over the counter.

There’s nothing like chocolate all over a white shirt!

Roleplay is still an important part of growing up and your kids might still try to beat up bad guys. Melissa channels her inner kid and bounces on the bed pretending to fight. She’s wearing a red cape and mask, empowering herself to be victorious against an imaginary villain.

Anyone riding with a kid knows that them kicking the back of your seat might make you lose your mind. Melissa really throws herself into this role.

Kiddos and railings aren’t a good mix. They morph into monkeys and can’t stop swinging and scaling them. Melissa looks hilarious doing this.

Melissa writes on a light-colored car with a Sharpie and spits out an apple that she had just started eating. She digs for gold while staring out the window and pours tea oh so carefully all the way to the top of the glass then slops it everywhere when she picks it up.

Oh the messes. She pours cereal into a tiny bowl, scattering the round Os all over. Then she adds milk and a flood of cereal gushes out of the bowl all over the counter.

“Been watching my kids during quarantine and I wonder what it would look like if adults acted like them?”

We can honestly say Melissa does a darn good job of capturing some of those annoying nuances and hair-pulling habits of our kiddos and we can totally relate!

She added a second video of outtakes that didn’t make the cut for the original video, so be sure to check that one out, too.

Mom Michelle Joy begged for more of Melissa’s videos.

“Seriously I want stage 2, come on woman these need to be added to some more … what about blowing bubbles on brand new clean windows arggggg, or discovering the pet painted lol you gotta do another, pretty please, oh and the ultimate one, trying something new food wise and then just dribbling back on your plate.”

Watch the first video Melissa created below and see if she hits the nail on the head for your household. She’s just too funny to watch!
