“But Mommy, I want that one”

Have you ever been at a store and saw a child tell their parents that they really wanted a particular toy? Parents and guardians will tell you that it happens all the time and it’s not always easy to resist this innocent request. But can you imagine being the parent who had to watch their child fall in love with a real creepy doll?

It’s all sweet until you notice the toy’s face

The video opens at a store where a toddler wanders over to a baby doll. He seems curious about the toy so he picks it up. The child clearly loves the toy as they hug it, kiss it, and play with it. It sounds cute until you realize that the doll has a creepy zombie child face complete with evil eyes and fangs.

The parents wanted nothing to do with the toy but then…

You can imagine that his parents wanted nothing to do with the toy. But it’s hard to say no when the child shows so much love and affection for this scary little lump of plastic. You can see the games the child plays with his new companion. The child just looks happy playing with the toy.

Parents give in and buy the toy and it’s surprisingly sweet

So into the shopping cart the zombie doll goes, with their son ecstatic beyond belief. That leads to a cute little scene before the car ride home when the child kisses the doll and holds it close to chest. This is what we imagine a child looks like with a teddy bear, but that’s no Teddy Ruxpin. Not by a long shot.

They thought they could wait it out, but…

These parents were likely hoping that they could get rid of the doll sooner than later. It might have been easier if the child got bored of the toy. But he didn’t want to give up his toy.

The parents were probably expecting the child to start crying upset by the toy so they’d have a reason to get rid of it. The plan should have been foolproof.

This child is very sweet and doesn’t even care about…

But this little toddler is determined to keep the doll a part of their lives. Whether in the kitchen or in the hall, the child is never very far from their “My little pal, Zombie!” doll. If you listen, you can hear the smack as the toddler kisses the toy.

Turns out that the doll was here to stay because it teaches valuable lessons…

But seeing the child dance and babble with the toy in hand has to bring a smile to his parent’s faces. Maybe the boy is more fearless than we know or maybe they’re smart enough to know that beauty is only skin deep.

Whatever makes this boy love his creepy toy doesn’t change that its a part of his life. The boy even shows signs of sharing and caring by offering his pacifier to the doll. This little kid is going to be a good friend when he grows older.

Sometimes, scary things aren’t very scary

His parents may not have been sure about keeping this toy. But they can’t deny how much warmth and love the child shows for his new companion. But no one would be surprised if Halloween turned out to be his favorite holiday.
