As I looked through this selection, I couldn’t believe how many of these parents got married so young. And are they still together? If they are, kudos to them.
But that is not the point here. The point is the drastic differences between the parents and their children at the same age. A lot of these are wedding pics of the parents. Or pics of young parents. Opposite pics of what their children are doing at the same age.
We could make a blanket statement and say that the parents were far more responsible in their time, but we won’t do that. Because an image from a single moment out of time isn’t going to prove much about how responsible or irresponsible a person is in life. For the most part.
Let’s just enjoy the fun as we look at these 50 kids vs parent pics.
1. Happy family.
Mom and dad do look older than 20, but they also look happy. And both daughter and dog in matching jammies are beauties.
2. Unicorns are magic.
Mom and dad at 24 look kind of miserable, don’t you think? However, their son looks happy, and he looks like he’s having fun.
3. Take a big sip.
Is that part of the ceremony, or did she just have the need to slug one back? A flask would have been a better idea. And her daughter is mom’s girl, apparently.
4. Curls!
Well, there is no question where the daughter got her wavy hair from. And I wonder if that’s tamed, are if she has curls like dad does.
5. Good looking bunch.
Dad looks super serious and intense, don’t you think? And his daughter looks pretty intense while gazing at the candy floss.
6. Hold on tight.
At age 23, dad is holding his young son. Now 23, that young son is cradling a bottle, not a child. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
7. Picket fences?
Mom and dad look very happy at 19. I wonder if those picket fences are there. I’m not sure where the 19-year-old daughter is, but let’s assume she’s happy to.
8. 20th birthday?
We don’t know for sure but she’s blowing up balloons. So perhaps this is to celebrations at 20. One a wedding and one of birthday.
9. Dad looks serious.
Rightfully so to be 24 with a newborn. However, the 24-year-old daughter looks a little more carefree at the same age.
10. Good looking couple.
I wonder how they ended up with an animated child. I suppose one of those characters is supposed to be their child at 24.
11. I was going to say she looks young.
The daughter I mean. And then I realized she is young, she still 19. They all look young.
12. All paired up.
Clearly the parents are paired up and happy. At least they are in that picture. And it looks like their daughter has a very special partner. who just has to be in the picture with her.
13. I wonder.
Is this the parents wedding photo? Are they signing the marriage license? It’s not exactly formal, but he is wearing a tie.
14. Pink and grey.
I seem to remember those were the colors of the 80s. Or at least one set of them. I wonder if that’s when mom and dad got married.
15. I can’t really tell.
Does dad have a black eye in the wedding pic? That wouldn’t be good at your big church wedding.
16. The older child?
That’s my guess. The current pic, that’s obviously from 2020, is the older child in the first pic. And can I save it dad looks incredibly young for 26.
17. Still in school?
I’m guessing that’s a university gymnasium that she’s in in the current pic. Does that mean she’s still in school and 23? I wonder what she’s taking.
18. What is she doing?
I’m trying to figure up with the girl in the current pic is doing. It looks like she has roller skates in her hands and is throwing them.
19. Stressful day?
Dad looks thrilled and happy. Mom has serious luggage under her eyes. But she does have a beautiful smile
20. A moment to time.
We can’t say we’re definitely looking at lifestyle choices here. It is her birthday, presumably her 21st birthday, so maybe she isn’t always drunk and unconscious.
21. 2020.
I’m just realizing that we now have a visual clue as to when many photos were taken. As in, if people have a mask on, it’s 2020 or later.
22. So young.
A newborn at 18. Dad looks a little shellshocked, but he’s there. So huge kudos to him.
23. Graduation?
Mom and dad are married and settling down at 24. It looks like their daughter’s just graduating, and life is ahead of her.
24. 18 years old.
Am I the only one wondering about all these 18-year-olds they got married? That just seems so crazy to me.
25. What is that?
Is that a cat on her shoulders? Some other sort of creature crawling on her head? Can anybody figure out what that is?
26. Look at dad’s face.
I see a little bit of a smirk there. A happy, haha, I did it, sort of look. Or he’s trying to control the biggest smile in the world.
27. Looks like palm trees.
I realize some people actually live where there are palm trees, but when I see them I think of vacation. Wherever they are, mom and dad look gloriously happy.
28. I love that pic.
The one of the parents. One of those happy, candid shots caught in the moment that are so much more powerful than staged, posed photos.
29. Look at the cake.
Forget about the wedding couple. Forget about their son at 22 and 29. I’m just mesmerized by the cake in the background.
30. Photo booth?
Given the grainy black-and-white pic, I’m wondering if this is one of those Photo Booth pictures. Although their quality was usually pretty good.
31. Personalities.
Mom and dad look serious and stoic and both pictures. Son looks like he’s lots of fun, and perhaps considering a trip to the moon and back.
32. The shoes.
They hurt my feet just looking at them. I wonder if he wears them for any length of time and how happy he is to eventually get out of them.
33. Opposites
Mom and Dad, just hanging out and happy to be together. Daughter, up close and personal with a crocodile.
34. How old is the baby?
From the size of him, while dad has him in his arms. He’s not a newborn, he’s a toddler. So in 20 his parents were well into parenthood. He’s still partying. Enjoy it while you can!
35. Europe?
I’m guessing mom dad and son are somewhere in Europe. And son is all grown up now. And hopefully that’s Halloween costume, not an everyday look.
36. Everyone’s happy.
That’s a sweet candid shot of mom and dad, looking so happy together. And daughters looking happy too, although likely for different reasons.
37. She looks like her dad.
Two straws. That’s a big ass drink with two straws. I wonder if she’s actually going to share it.
38. The 80s.
It’s easy to spot when the picture was taken in the 80s. And that’s not necessarily a good thing.
39. Lookin’ fine!
I’m not sure, but I think she’s drinking wine from a box. Except the box has been separated from the wine.
40. Payday?
Her mom is gorgeous. I wonder what she looks like. If it weren’t for the fan of money in front of her face we might know.
41. Look at mom and dad.
They both look so happy and so proud. The baby looks so cute. I wish we could see his face better in the current photo.
42. Just chillin’
I wonder if she had dreams of getting married young like her parents did. Probably not!
43. Adorable!
He was such a cute little guy. All dressed up in his talks from his parents’ wedding. Too bad we don’t have a better shot of him currently.
44. Weee!
She’s either eating popcorn or Chinese food. Either way, right looks fun. As long as they don’t crash.
45. Look at those big smiles.
Mom and dad on their wedding day, their daughter today. Riding a whale on a carousel.
46. Shower presents?
Trying to figure out the current picture. I’m guessing it’s either a wedding shower or opening gifts after a wedding. Either way, she got some kitchen appliances.
47. Mom does not look happy.
Or maybe she’s just exhausted. 24 with two kids, the oldest looking around five. She has every right to be exhausted.
48. A family photo.
The middle girl in the white dress is the one in the current photo. I’m not sure what she’s doing but she’s having fun at the RV park.
49. She said it for us.
At 25 her parents were on their third child. From what she said it’s a good thing she doesn’t have three children and 25.
50. Don’t compare.
At 22 her parents were clearly happy with their circumstances. Being 22 today is a whole lot different than it was to be 22 whenever that was.
