Bruce Faltynski, a police officer from Mishawaka, Indiana, and his wife, Shelby, have long wanted to become parents.

They had been struggling with infertility for a long time, and then they decided to open up their horizons and consider other options when it comes to adding a child to their little family.

So, initially, they became foster parents. As they explained in an interview with NewsNation, they never really intended to adopt, they just figured it would be nice to foster a child before actually having their biological children.

“Never was the intention to adopt,”Shelby said. “We were doing it as we waited for God to give us our own family.”

But then they fostered little Kaia, whom they fell in love right away and soon they realized they just couldn’t imagine living without.

The couple ended up adopting 8-year-old Kaia in March.

That’s when they believed that their family was complete.

They were happy to have their amazing child, and they just didn’t feel something was missing from the puzzle.

But, as proved later on, life had other plans for them.

“We honestly felt our family was complete,” Shelby said. “And then, when we got the call about Myah, we were just really surprised, God just blew us away!”

A few months ago, the couple received a call about a baby who had been given up in a baby box. She was only 1 day old.

The baby, who had been left in a Safe Haven Box, initially had to be taken to the NICU, where doctors concluded that she had a stroke.

Thankfully, the doctors were able to stabilize her and the baby’s health only seemed to be getting better day after day.

So, when the couple received a call about that baby, they somehow knew that they were meant to add little Myah, too, to their little family.

“We just feel overwhelmed with gratitude,” the couple said, according to WDRB. “It has been a really long wait.”

Indeed, a few months later, Bruce and Shelby adopted baby Myah, while they also finalized Kaia’s adoption in court last week.

The couple couldn’t be happier as they now have two beautiful daughters to fill their hearts and their home with smiles and unconditional love.

As Shelby explained, although she’s excited to have a baby at home, she really cannot imagine going through it without having had the experience with 8-year-old Kaia first.

She shared that Kaia helps a lot with her baby sister, she does everything except change diapers.

Kaia, of course, couldn’t be happier. She loves having her baby sister around, she enjoys playing with her, and she is really a proud big sister.

The Faltynskis will be celebrating their first holidays as a family of four, and they couldn’t be more excited about it.
