The 70s – when the word “fever” was preceded by only two words: disco or fashion.

If you’re lucky, you were able to fully experience both.

The amazing 70s was so iconic that its influence speaks volumes in today’s music and runway shows all over the world.

It was an era that greatly impacted history, too.

Think antiwar protests and the fight for equality (and a whole lot more).

But if you’d rather not get into that and prefer just treading the surface of that wonderful decade, then you’re safest with the music and movies of that time, like “Saturday Night Fever” starring John Travolta.

Ready for a blast from the past?

The film revolves around a young working-class man named Tony who spends his weekends partying it up in Brooklyn. Dancing (which he’s unsurprisingly good at) is his outlet and escape as he survives the struggles of working a dead-end job, squabbling constantly with unsupportive parents, and dealing with inter-ethnic tensions in the community.

The movie once again ushered into the spotlight disco music, particularly tracks by the popular music group, The Bee Gees.

Putting together music, dancing, and fashion, “Saturday Night Fever” was a huge commercial success, recognized for having one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time.

That’s why it comes as no surprise that senior citizens still find joy in reliving the decade!
