The events of Hurricane Harvey in Texas are absolutely disastrous. Thousands of homes were destroyed, millions were forced to evacuate and the estimated costs due to the hurricane are enormous.

KHOU 11 interviewed Max Gonzales, a loving father residing in Houston, shortly after the hurricane had made its way into Texas. He told the news station that the roof of his home completely collapsed, and he and his family had nowhere to go. His two children, only three and four years old, had no place to stay or sleep anymore. The young family was able to seek shelter in a furniture store and some good Samaritans later gave them a ride to the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The man gave a quick and emotional interview on a KHOU 11 News broadcast, saying that they had lost their house and didn’t have a place to call home anymore.

His wife is currently in the hospital and is expected to deliver a healthy baby soon.

A viewer saw Max’s heartfelt interview on the television and immediately decided to help the family out.

She told them that they were welcome to stay with her family past Montgomery until their home was restored or until they could find a place of their own again.

The generous viewer, Miss K., would rather stay anonymous and definitely has her heart in the right place. KHOU 11 recently caught up with Max once again to talk about this incredible act of kindness.

“She told me that she stays past Montgomery. She told me she’d be glad and happy to take us in and help us,” Max said. “She was asking me if my mother-in-law would want to come also…She said that for sure, in the morning, she’d be here to come get us.”

Max was clearly very emotional and immensely thankful that a stranger would be willing to help him, his wife and his children out during these times of emergency.

“Everything we’ve been through, everything we go through, this type of stuff don’t happen to people like us,” Max said. “Belief in God and the city of Houston. I just want to say thank you to people that showed us support, even people going through the same things we’re going through…good people, man.”

“Thank you, Miss K. Thank you, God bless you and I’ll see you tomorrow. With love from Houston,” he said with tears in his eyes to conclude the interview.

Max picked up his daughter into his arms who had noticed that her daddy was crying. The adorable daughter then tried to wipe the tears from his eyes in what can only be described as a heartfelt moment.
