Kids are adorable, there’s no doubt about that. They are also imaginative, compassionate, and full of surprises. A first-grade teacher knows this all too well.
Anna Hood teaches first-grade and is used to her students saying or doing silly things. It’s likely a daily occurrence that she hears or sees the children being innocent and goofy — some of the greatest things about being a kid.
Children are so funny because they lack the rationalization skills that adults or even older children have. So, they tend to do things that weren’t exactly well thought through, even though their intentions were in the right place.
Anna Hood, the first-grade teacher, hadn’t prepared herself for what she found in one of her students’ backpacks recently.
When Ms. Hood opened up the bright pink backpack of one of her students, she was taken aback when she found two tiny kittens inside. Both of them were curled up comfortably, staring up at her with their adorable kitten faces.
Of course, Hood had to post a picture of the adorably hilarious situation. “They tell teachers to be prepared for anything,” she wrote in a now-viral Facebook post, “but I was not ready to open a book bag this morning and find two kittens.”
The little girl who had brought the kittens to class explained to her teacher that she didn’t want to be away from them. She was even sweet enough to make sure they’d be well fed throughout the day.
“My student said she even put food in there and wanted to keep them at her desk to cuddle with after she finished her work,” Anna said. “Gotta love first grade.”
Since Ms. Hood posted the adorable picture and story on Facebook, it has been shared almost 16,000 times and had over 16,000 reactions. The full post and comments are below.
