It doesn’t matter how well you plan your day, sometimes the unexpected happens.

Candice Curry from San Antonio, Texas found herself in a predicament when a family emergency arose. Her son was in daycare and she needed a relative to pick him up. Since Candice’s husband was out of town for work, she decided to call her 17-year-old daughter, Stiles, to help out.

The mom thought Stiles would scoop up her little brother and then babysit him at home. But what did the teen do instead? Well, let’s just say it melted Candice’s heart!

Stiles had been at school when she got the phone call from her mom about babysitting.

A lot of teenagers might have seen it as an opportunity to miss class, eat snacks, and watch some cartoons. Not Stiles though.

Candice’s daughter picked up her sibling wanting to help out during the family emergency. However, instead of going home with the three-year-old, she drove back to her high school…

She wanted to handle all of her responsibilities.

Being that she didn’t want to miss any school work – Stiles brought her little brother to class. That way, she could take care of both responsibilities at the same time. How amazing is that?

The boy sat with his sister at her desk. Eventually, he was so tired that he drifted off to sleep in her arms.

It wasn’t until Candice saw the photo on her daughter’s social media account that she realized what they’d been up to. She told ABC News that it made her “heart want to explode.”

“The fact that he is sleeping so comfortably on her in the middle of a class full of teenagers tells me how much he trusts her. As a mom, it makes me so thankful that they have this kind of relationship.”

The mother of six shared the touching story in a Facebook post that’s gone viral.

“We had a family emergency type situation today that required our teenager to leave school early and pick up her little brother from his school. I thought she took him home until I saw her snapchat. Instead of missing class she actually took her three year old brother back to high school with her and let him sleep on her while she finished her last class of the day.”

She continued:

“I’m not sure on the legalities here or what kind of rules were broken but I also just don’t care. My sweet teenager helped her family out and returned to her other responsibility while snuggling her baby brother.”

Many would agree that this mom is doing something totally right. She concluded her post though, asking others not to judge one way or the other.

“I’m either the worst mom in the world or totally nailing it. Please don’t tell me which one , let me live in ignorant bliss while I stare at this picture. Life is short. These are the moments that make it so incredibly sweet.”
