Being a parent can be equally frustrating and hilarious. Kids all have their own unique quirky personalities that make raising them nothing short of a rollercoaster.
If you’re a parent, you’ll know all about buying your kids expensive toys – only for them to become attached to the most unconventional object of all time.
For one Utah mom, life has become slightly spookier than she intended, thanks to her son’s new best friend.
Luckily, with Halloween coming up, it doesn’t look (quite) so unusual for little Theo, two, to be dragging a 5-foot skeleton in his wake wherever he goes.
If you’re of a squeamish disposition, you’ll be happy to know that this is a model skeleton, and not a real one. According to mom Abigail, it’s an old Halloween decoration that Theo found in the basement when Abigail was doing a clearout.
It was love at first sight, and, much to Abigail’s amusement, Theo immediately befriended the skeleton.

Speaking to TODAY about her decision to give the friendship her thumbs-up, Abigail said:
“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh that is so funny.’ So I brought it upstairs. (I thought) I’ll just start decorating for Halloween early.”
Abigail agreed to let Theo keep his new friend for now – but the little boy became so attached that he wanted to take Theo on an outing with him. So much so that he refused to get in the car without him.

Deciding that the easiest thing to do was grant his wishes, Abigail strapped “Benny” the skeleton in the family car, and off they went to the local reservoir.
While the two of them played on the beach, Abigail shot some hilarious videos of Theo and his skeleton friend.
“I was like, ‘This is going to be fun. We’ll just bring the skeleton with us and it’ll be a party.’ Ever since then, the skeleton’s been coming everywhere with us.”
Since his first outing with Theo, Benny has become a big part of the family – whether his mom and dad like it or not.
He now accompanies Theo and his parents on chores and playtime both inside and outside the house.
Abigails’s Instagram account is packed with photos of Theo pouring Benny some cereal at the breakfast table, Theo and Benny watching movies in bed, Theo taking Benny on a supermarket cart ride, Theo reading Benny stories, and so many other hilarious scenes and situations.
With Benny being such an unusual friend, it didn’t take long for Abigail’s photos to start gaining attention online.

She now has 15,000 followers, all of whom find Theo and Benny’s friendship just as adorably hilarious.
Though Abigail never could have predicted her son’s unlikely friendship with a skeleton, she’s thrilled her photos of the pair are cheering people up. She said:
“2020 has been probably one of the craziest years in a while and I know it has brought a lot of people a lot of turmoil and a lot of hardship.

“My hope is that this can just spread some happiness. Even if it makes someone’s day for a couple of minutes, that makes me so happy.”
