Parents, be careful about handing any gadget to your kids!
We know how parents vary in their parenting styles. Some would sternly restrict their children from using any electronic gadget (and even the TV!) for play, learning, or distraction. Others, however, rely on these devices to entertain their kids while they can finish a chore or two.
Either of the two is totally fine – whichever works for you.
However, there might be some instances where parents need to take extra precautionary measures when handing any gadget to their children. There are many phone features and apps out there that can help any device become “child-friendly.”
These parents learned it the hard way – and it cost them almost $2,000.
Pramod and Madhu Kumar found a huge surprise on their doorstep – literally and figuratively speaking. They found boxes of furniture delivered to their home for an entire week. These purchases included accent chairs, flower stands, and various household items.
Pramod thought it was Madhu who purchased them. Madhu thought it was Pramod.
After discussing the matter and realizing neither of them had bought the products, the wife suspected it might be her two other children. When they found out it was neither of them, the only possibility was 22-month-old Ayaansh.
It turns out Ayaansh is a keen observer and had seen his mom buying things online before.
The toddler from New Jersey grew up seeing his parents and siblings work, study, and shop online using their phones and other gadgets. He’s been observing them all along, and we bet he’s had a taste of using those gadgets once or twice.
The parents soon found out that Ayaansh had checked out everything in his mother’s cart.
Madhu admitted that she’d been checking out a few pieces of furniture in her Walmart app. She had added them to her shopping cart but had never completed the purchase.
Instead of getting angry, they just laughed the incident away.
They couldn’t get angry at their 22-month-old toddler because what he did was an innocent accident. They found it quite cute and adorable how he navigated his way through checking out all those items.
Good thing that Walmart agreed to return the items for a refund.
The couple decided to return some of the items but they plan to keep something to remind them of this funny event.
The couple also saw this as a lesson.
Pramod and Madhu plan to create a more complicated passcode in their phone and to add other security measures.
Other parents in the comments section chimed in.
Some found it cute, indeed – but most of the parents said that only families with no financial issues would find this situation adorable. After all, checking out almost $2,000 is a pretty big deal.
