One mom of a picky eater had a particularly unique case on her hands – and it turns out her little lad didn’t want to eat his food for a reason that’s actually quite adorable.
The unnamed mom thought it would be a nice idea to make a “fancy” dinner for her toddler, making a smiley face out of cheese, ham and some other nibbles.
We’ve all done it before, and it usually goes down a treat. So what was the problem here?
“It’s just too cute for me to eat!”
The problem was, in the little boy’s eyes, he couldn’t possibly eat something that looked that cute. That’d be, like, murder or something.
How are you supposed to react as a mom when your child won’t eat their food because it’s “too cute”?
It seems the mom in question didn’t have any immediate ideas up her sleeve, because she asked her son what they should do with the meal.
Unfortunately, though he was the one making the fuss, he said he didn’t know either!
Eventually, mom offered to help her little boy take his first bite, but the heartbroken toddler insisted,
“No, no, no, no! It’s too cute for me to eat!”
Looking at him with his pouty lower lip and teary eyes, it would be very difficult to force him to eat the cute creation.
But how long could this debacle go on for? What if your toddler insisted that no one could eat the food?What if they thought it was so cute that it wasn’t destined for mouths or the trash can?
We’ll never know what this mom did after finishing filming, and whether her son eventually did eat his meal.
There’s a high chance the mom ended up freezing the food until her little one forgot about it, like one mom had to do with a smiley face potato shape that was “too cute”, according to an Instagram post.
Let’s hope she threw the smiley away eventually, even if not just to replenish it with another one! Ah, toddlers and their strange preferences.
The video of the little boy crying about his cute food has gone viral, with more than 3 million views.
Hundreds of people in the comments saw the humor in the adorable situation, with one person writing:
“AWWW POOR LITTLE GUY! ! DAMMIT LADY, WHY YOU HAVE TO MAKE HIS FOOD SO CUTE! !!!!! XD”
Someone else theorized that the little kid had a plan all along, writing:
“Plot twist : it being cute is just an excuse he actually doesn’t like the food”
Though it’s clear from the video that the mom was taken aback, there’s no denying that she will have felt proud of her adorable creation for getting such an overwhelmingly positive reaction!
