The bond between sisters can be very strong.

The Nunez family provided incontrovertible evidence to this fact after a trip to a Cici’s Pizza restaurant in Texas.

The family filmed their youngest daughter protecting her older sister from a scolding by their mother.

Video of this protective little toddler defending her older sister has gone viral across the world. Many viewers were likely left wishing they had a younger sibling who is just as protective as them.

Mother, Melissa Nunez, pretended to scold her older daughter Emma while the family was dining at the pizza place.

Melissa just generally pointed her finger at Emma and said she was being bad. The youngest child did not like this, however, and clearly felt the need to intervene.

“Don’t do that Emma! You’re going to get in trouble Emma!” The Mother said to her oldest.

Emma pretends to cry.

Emma plays a very key role in this staged-scolding. She knows that she’s not really in trouble with her mother but she goes along with the role-playing to see how her sister reacts.

Emma buries her head in her hands as if she is crying.

Melissa keeps up her scolding, but little sister isn’t going to let anyone scold her big sister.

“No mommie!” the child yells at her mother.

Emma gives a wink to the camera.

While being “scolded” Emma pretends to be crying but in reality, she seems to be having a good time.

She occasionally looks up at the camera and gives a little smile or sticks out her tongue as if to let the audience know she’s in on the gag.

The two sisters hug!

While this is going on, Emma occasionally looks her sister right in the face and gives her a big hug. This seems to be in an effort to show her sister that her help is appreciated and is having a positive impact.

On some level, Emma has to love this.

This kind of loyalty between sisters can really mess up the parent-child power dynamic in a household. By the time they are old enough, these sisters might run the whole family.

Mom defends her behavior.

The mother really does a good job pranking her toddler as well. At one point, the child swats at her mother’s arm in order to get her to stop scolding Emma.

“But she’s being bad,” Melissa says to her youngest.

Mom is trying to say that Emma has misbehaved and needs a scolding.

Her child, evidently, feels there is no place for this type of negativity.

While she might not yet have the verbal skills to express it, perhaps she just wants her mother to adopt a less confrontational approach to parenting.

It will no doubt be something the Nunez family laughs about for many years to come.

We think Melissa should show this video to the two girls any time they have a disagreement later in life to remind them of the bond they share deep down.
