This little girl had only seen rain from behind a window until the moment she went outside for a new experience, safe in her daddy's arms.

One of the most beautiful and rewarding parts of parenting is seeing your child experience something for the first time.

Things we take for granted as adults, like the taste of a lemon or even something as simple as the weather, can be so magical to a kid.

And it’s easy to see why. Try to rewind back and imagine what experiencing rain for the first time would feel like. Cold, wet droplets that you can barely see are falling from the sky. It’s pretty marvellous when you think of it that way.

It’s something we are so used to we don’t really appreciate it anymore. In fact, most people see it as a bummer!

But it’s important to appreciate the little things in life. It’s good for the soul.

“Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.” – Bob Marley

The Swift family have done an amazing job of taking time to appreciate nature’s beautiful intricacies, and are sharing that appreciation with their toddler, Harper.

They became internet famous after sharing an adorable video of their little girl learning how to crawl alongside her puppy pal. And now they’re sharing her other important “firsts” with the world.

“[an] unforgettable moment was filmed of our little Harper experiencing another lifetime ‘first’ and this time it’s seeing and feeling rain for the very first time.” – Swift Family

Wide-eyed and looking out from the open garage door at the pouring rain, she listens to her daddy explain that they’re going outside.

She bounces gleefully outside into the unknown, safe in her dad’s arms.

He spins her around as she giggles and the summer rain falls down on the two of them.

The pair run back inside after a moment, and dad checks in with little Harper to see what she thinks.

She loves the rain and can’t wait to go back outside. She’s reaching for the door and clapping with a big smile on her face.

I wish I could be excited about anything as much as little Harper is excited about this rain. It’s too pure!

“Although she’s seen it from the window before now, this is the first time she played in the warm Summer rain… and her reaction was absolutely precious!” – Swift Family

As soon as her dad puts let’s her down she turns around and darts for the door.

More rain, more rain!

After running in and out a couple times to get her used to the rain slowly, daddy realizes that’s not necessary. They go outside and dance in the rain together.

This little one is going to need some sturdy rubber boots, because you can bet she’s going to be a big fan of puddle jumping when she gets a little older!

“She simply couldn’t get enough, from the car ride home and watching it pour all over the car windows, to getting out and wanting nothing more then to run around, play, and exalt over the fabulous new experience with her Daddy.” – Swift Family

She can hardly believe her eyes. Have you ever seen anything more pure than this? This is unabashed joy – this is how to enjoy life.

Harper’s love for the weather has clearly remained as she’s gotten older.

Even now that’s grown up a few years, you can see she’s just as mesmerized by falling snow as she was with the rain!
