Prom is one of the biggest events for high schoolers.

It’s a way to show their peers how elegant they can be and maybe create love stories while at it.

But for others, this big social event comes with a certain level of pressure.

It’s the pressure to get a date, a good dress, and most significantly, the pressure to leave a lasting impression even if one thinks they’re not cut out for the dress-up.

Cheyanne is an 18-year-old from the Bronx, and her prom is coming up.

There’s one problem, though.

Cheyanne doesn’t know how to “glow up.”

Just to paint you guys a picture, Cheyanne is an athletic student.

She’s on the flag football team, wrestling team, track team, and volleyball team.

She shared with the team from the Rachel Ray Show that she figured she didn’t have to learn how to do makeup because she knew she’d just sweat and ruin it anyways.

She also didn’t find the need to shop for trendy clothes since, most of the time, she’s just wearing sweats and high socks.

And through the hard work she has been putting herself through, her mother Suzanna said she’s proud.

“I’m proud of her,” her mom Suzanna says in her interview with the show.

“Cheyanne is doing everything that I don’t think I was able to do.”

But there’s one thing she wants to do beyond what she gave and what was expected of her.

She wanted to participate in the biggest social event of her high school life.

Cheyanne wants to turn heads with an unforgettable prom look.

For this project, Rachel Ray tapped Mally Roncal, a makeup artist and the show’s resident glam girl.

Mally took Cheyanne to Macy’s, where they shopped for everything she needed for the occasion.

Mally didn’t just help her choose a dress, she also shared important styling notes for the athlete.

She shared that bedazzled dresses also become the person’s jewelry, so accessories should be kept to a minimum – or none at all.

She also shared the pros and cons of a “high-low” dress or short-trimmed in front and long-trimmed at the back.

She said it gives the elegance of the “drama” of a long dress and the conveniences of a short one.

She also helped Cheyanne choose the best makeup look for her.

The result is jaw-dropping.

Cheyanne waltzed into Rachel Ray’s studio and flaunted her simple yet elegant style.

She chose a plain navy blue high-low dress.

Her top has a tube look that accentuates her muscular physique while giving that elegance and style.

“I love that the stylist kept everything simple yet glamorous. The shoes were a gorgeous pop with a dark-colored dress. I’m so impressed with this young lady’s athleticism,” said one commenter.

However, she also told her friend she considered wearing a prom tux.

But we know that regardless of Cheyanne’s choice, she’ll rock the look with confidence and poise.

Watch how they transformed an achiever student-athlete to be prom-ready.
