As any parent knows, kids can be sneaky! They are always so much smarter than they let on (that is until they need to play dumb)! Even from the young age of one, a moment where your eye isn’t on your baby can result in a huge mess for later!
One family recently learned that their toddlers do something sneaky when they aren’t looking!
Iris and Ella are twin sisters that have gotten famous over the past few weeks when their parents learned that they have a special talent for escaping! Jessica Mace, the mom who captured them on camera, knew she had some talented kids after this!
Iris and Ella are 1-year-old twins that learned how to open the baby gates in their home.
Jessica noticed one day that the girls were trying to get through the gate when her husband had left the living room to head into the kitchen. Clearly, the two girls wanted some more time with their dad!
Matt, the dad, was in the kitchen getting the high-chairs ready for dinner when Jessica decided to pull out her phone and record.
The girls apparently decided they were tired of waiting on dad to come back and took matters into their own tiny hands! Heading towards the gate, they started fiddling with it, hoping to open it somehow.
Incredibly, they figured it out!
“They had just started trying to open the gate so when he was going back and forth between the kitchen and dining room I began recording to see if they’d do it, and sure enough Ella did,” Mace said.
In the video, we can see them heading towards the gate after watching their dad open it. With sharp eyes, they saw him lift the latch on the top and use it to swing the gate open. Ella, the twin in the dress, decided to try it for herself!
With nimble fingers and a sharp mind, she reached up and deliberately opened the latch!
There are videos of dogs accidentally opening their kennels and escaping, but this is different. Ella CLEARLY watched her dad open it a certain way and mimicked him to do it herself! Once she got the latch open, it was game over.
Ella swung the gate open and the twins marched into the kitchen, but not before closing the gate behind her!
Like a real pro, Ella got it open and walked through with her sister. In what is probably the funniest part of the whole video, she spends just as much time carefully closing it after her as she did opening it in the first place! She must see adults closing the gates after and assumed that’s what you had to do after you opened it!
For a kid as young as her, it’s a pretty remarkable feat!
It looks like Ella may be well on her way to Harvard! Well, it may be a few years down the road but as any parent knows, it comes faster than you will ever expect!
