As much as they want to spend the whole day with their little ones, they couldn’t because they need to spend a few hours working. Whether it’s a work-from-home setup or in the office, it’s surely challenging.

They were smiling from ear to ear. You could tell that they miss their dad so much.

But, is it really possible for infants to miss their parents?

The answer is yes. According to associate professor of psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Jennifer Rennels, Ph.D., an infant miss their “primary caregiver” whenever they are not around. We all know that moms are usually the primary caregiver but that does not mean that a father can’t be one.

“If fathers are serving as the primary caregiver or at least engaging in caretaking at the same level as mom, we might expect infants to display separation anxiety when their dad leaves,” she told Romper.

Now we know why these twins were that excited when they welcomed dad home.
