Getting free food from your favorite fast food restaurant for the restaurant for the rest of your life seems like a dream come true for some of us.
But that’s what life will be like for little baby Gracelyn of San Antonio, Texas.
Chick-Fil-A is offering the newborn free food for the rest of her life since one of their franchise locations is the place she was born.
While Gracelyn’s parents, Falon and Robert Griffin love to eat at Chick-Fil-A, Fallon never intended to give birth there.
But fate decided that it would be so.
Her parents bought her a “Little Nugget” Chick-Fil-A onesie three months before her birth, according to KSAT.
Low and behold, three months later the Universe decided to make it into a funny coincidence.
Falon started having severe contractions so she and Robert drove to University Hospital.
They met some friends at the Stone Ridge Chik-A-Fil-A parking lot on U.S. 281 on the way so they could drop off their two older daughters with them while they were at the hospital.
Falon suddenly had to use the restroom and couldn’t wait to to get to the hospital so she went inside.
“I didn’t know I was going to have a baby in there! I was going to the restroom,” Falon Griffin said.
Store Director Brenda Enriquez heard Falon and distress and ran to help her.
“I’m about to dial 911, I open the door and she’s just screaming,” Enriquez said.
That’s when the store director grabbed some towels and called out to Robert.
“I looked at her [Falon] and said, ‘We’re going to do it right here, right now,'” Robert Griffin told KSAT.
In his Facebook post, he refers to his wife as Maggie while news outlets, like ABC and CNN, refers to the woman as Falon though Falon Griffin is tagged in his post.
“So there we were…..my wife and I in a tiny stall in the bathroom, and I could see the top of our little girls head crowning as Maggie was straddling the toilet. I told Maggie, “Sweetie, we are gonna have to do this right here, right now”.
Robert found that the baby’s cord was wrapped around her neck twice.
“Didn’t want to alert my wife, so just told her try to relax for a minute and I was somehow able to unwrap the chord from the baby’s neck. With two more strong pushes, and using my shirt for a towel, out came Gracelyn Mae Violet Griffin,” he explained.
They were able to keep the baby warm with kitchen towels until paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later.
“Her birth certificate reads ‘Born in Chick-Fil-A’ and (t)he hospital had me sign the birth certificate as the attending physician,” proud dad Robert said.
And that’s the story of how Gracelyn will get free food for life at Chick-Fil-A.
She will even be offered a job there at age 14.
