Take Rosalinda’s story, for instance.
Now in her graceful 70s, she has a narrative that might just leave you speechless.
Rosalinda has a son.
But the way he became a part of her life?
Well, it’s straight out of a movie script.
Rosalinda was simply doing a favor, watching over the boy while his mom ran a quick errand.
But what was meant to be a short stint of babysitting turned into almost two decades of motherhood.
The boy’s mom, her next-door neighbor, just vanished and never returned to pick him up.
And Rosalinda? She was left with a young boy looking up at her, probably as confused as she was.
Here’s another twist.
Back then, Rosalinda, a young woman in her twenties, had been told she might never become a mother.
But life, with its quirky sense of humor, handed her this unexpected role.
And she took it on with all her heart.
He completely changed her life.
She fondly recalls,
“That little boy stayed with me through my marriage that I’ve spoken about before, until he was 18 when he found his dad and left to start a new life with his father – and maybe his mother, I’m not sure.”
It’s a heart-tugging truth, isn’t it?
Kids, no matter their past, often yearn to connect with their roots.
And while it might sting for those who’ve stepped in as guardians, there’s no denying the beauty and fulfillment that comes from fostering.
Being a foster parent is like planting a tree.

But there’s more to Rosalinda’s journey.
After tasting the unparalleled joy of raising a child, she felt a calling.
She thought, “Why not open my heart and home to more?”
And so began her journey as a foster parent.
She fondly remembers her first foster child, a little boy named Adeola.
And as years rolled by, she welcomed many into her home, leading her to adopt a darling baby girl, Lola, in 1990.
Lola, now all grown up, often shares moments with Rosalinda that they both cherish.
From embracing an abandoned child to fostering numerous souls and even navigating personal storms like a betrayal from her husband and sister, Rosalinda’s life is full of unforgettable moments.
