Losing a loved one is never easy, especially if they’re close to you.

Be it a parent, spouse, sibling, or best friend – nothing could ever ease the pain you feel knowing they won’t be there for you anymore.

It will take a while to mourn their loss and move forward.

However, some are forced to set aside the pain and stand strong for their family.

It may be the remaining parent who needs to be strong for their children or the eldest sibling for the younger ones.

You can’t help but be amazed and heartbroken for them at the same time because that kind of strength isn’t easy to come by.

But you’ll never expect this from a 10-year-old.

Imagine a kid like Daniel Crase, only ten years old, yet felt responsible for doing something for their family.

Money was difficult to come by, so he was compelled to find a way to raise funds.

Daniel lost his favorite uncle, Brian Keith Douglas, and had to step up for him.

Growing up, he was his best friend and playmate, and they did all the fun things together.

Sadly, his uncle suddenly passed due to a heart attack – a tragedy that left a void in this little man’s life.

Uncle Brian didn’t have insurance, so the family was left to pay for the funeral expenses.

Some funeral homes would require the family to pay upfront before they render any service.

Some would allow pushing for cremation or embalming, but the family can’t claim their dead unless they pay in full.

This is an unfortunate and inconvenient truth for most families in the country.

Daniel told his grandmother that he wanted to do something for his uncle.

“He said, ‘Nana, I want to raise money for my uncle Brian’ and I said, ‘Baby, I don’t know how to do that,’ and he said, ‘I do,'” Brenda Crase told 5News.

His plan? Sell his toys.

Daniel gathered all his toys, and his Nana Brenda set up a table outside their home in their family’s garage sale.

Unfortunately, he was not successful and didn’t make any sales.

He made another request: to take him to a Muldrow Quick Way.

Daniel sat there with a few toys, a bucket for his money, and a photo of his Uncle Brian.

He sat there for three days, not minding the heat outside, all for the love of his dearest uncle.

His target was $5,000; even if he only got $700 in those three days, the family got help from donations wired to their bank account.

Brenda was proud of his grandson, especially since she had raised him since day one.

Even though what Daniel did was not something that should be a burden to someone as young as he was, she was proud and happy to see that he had a kind heart to help the family.

Somehow, she believed she raised him right, and we couldn’t agree more.

Watch how this kid’s love for his uncle is reflected in his actions in the video below.
