A woman has shared a photo of her unborn baby’s ultrasound and she believes that her late father’s face can be seen in it.
After her 20-week ultrasound, 30-year-old Shantel Carillo from Santee noticed something strange in her baby’s ultrasound picture. She was only hoping for a clearer view of her daughter inside the womb, but she also found something unbelievable.
Because of the child’s movements, the radiologist could only take a side profile and not a front photo. This was fine with the expecting mom, as long as she could see her baby was doing well and had no abnormalities.
Shantel did not notice anything at first.
She and her partner, Bryce Vinson, were very ecstatic to have a clear view of their unborn daughter’s face. The couple was so excited that they took to Facebook to share the beautiful photo.
When their family and friends saw the lovely pictures, they saw the cute baby but also saw something else.
People online saw the side profile of the woman’s late father. His face can clearly be seen in the image, and anyone who knew their family can clearly see the uncanny resemblance of the silhouette in the ultrasound image with Shantel’s late father.
“I posted the ultrasound, just that one that you see on Facebook, and right when I posted it, like 30 seconds later, someone’s like, ‘There’s an angel kissing your baby!’” Shantel shared.
She told NBC 7 in an interview that her late father’s image seems to be leaning in the baby for a sweet kiss. If you look closely, what she says makes sense.
Shantel could not believe what she was seeing.
Later on, the expecting mom also posted the image on her Reddit account, and that’s where the image got even more attention. Along with those who were amazed, were people online who also accused her of using photoshop. Shantel assured everyone that she wouldn’t do that just for attention.
Shantel was totally perplexed about how the image came to be, but seeing the image of her late Dad has comforted her.
“It does look a lot like my dad. And it’s awesome, and you know, it could be him, just saying, ‘Hey, I’m here, and it’s all good,’” Shantel said. “Or it could be that placenta just looks like my dad, which is awesome too.”
10 years ago, a picture was taken of her late Dad and her eldest daughter, Myree Pacheco. The way her Dad leaned over her firstborn was the exact image she saw in the ultrasound photo.
She did not feel anything different during the ultrasound that would indicate her Dad was with her at the time, but she said she would not be surprised if it was really her Dad, playing tricks on her.
“He’s around, he’s doing his job – being a granddad,” she added.
Shantel’s daughter, Myree, also agrees that the photo looks like her grandpa.
