This year has been extremely difficult for everyone. The nation has been paralyzed for months as the COVID-19 swept throughout the country. Many institutions were hit among which were the school system.
Schools had to put locks on their doors and they had to go online in order for the students to continue to receive their education. Virtual classrooms popped up all over the country and teachers had to sit again through formation after formation in order to be able to teach in these new “virtual classrooms”.
While many schools continue to have their doors closed, there are many that bravely opened their doors for the new academic year but not without taking first all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the students and the teaching staff.
Many teachers had to be creative and organize their classrooms in such a way that the students would still feel welcomed although keeping the rules of social distancing. Below you will find 12 examples of teachers being creative with their own classrooms!
1. Plastic Dividers
In this classroom, the teacher had to literally take the situation in her hands as she had to spend money from her own pocket to properly prepare the classroom for her students’ return. Thank God that this kind of teacher exists and stores like Dollar Store!
2. Book Boats
What an incredible idea for younger kids! Every child would love to spend time playing or reading on his/ her own personal book boat. And, what is really cool is that the boats can be decorated by the kids themselves.
3. Happy Classroom
Everything in this classroom screams that the teacher has definitely thought carefully about the layout of the class down to the last detail. The desks are so carefully aligned and decorated in such bright colors that make this room really welcoming. An ideal classroom for older kids who will need to spend a lot of time on their seats.
4. Beach in the Classroom!
This classroom definitely gives a more entertaining and “summery” vibe. The students will definitely enjoy sitting along with their palls under the “shade” of the colorful umbrellas. Who knows, maybe when Christmas is approaching festive trees will take the place of the umbrellas!
5. Glass Panels
These desks not only follow the safety measures with these plastic panels but also they are spreading some much-needed positive vibes with these amazing affirmations decorating the panels. Such lovely messages to see first thing in the morning!
6. Teacher in Space
This desk is a prime example that adults sometimes can be more scared than the kids. Although the teacher’s station is definitely beautiful to see with this space-themed decoration, it makes you wonder if it’s a bit over the top.
7. Truck Desks
These desks are definitely one of a kind. The teacher who decided to transform the desks in such a fun and imaginary way deserves an applaud. And, they obviously keep the necessary distance measures by turning the desk shields into windshields.
8. Yellow Chair Pockets
This is definitely a rather unique and innovative way to use book covers! Who thought that you can actually use them as seat covers doubling as storage space too.
9. Desk Stickers
What a better way to make your students conscious of their sitting layout than using a bitmoji. Although the teacher on the sticker seems quite strict, it’s actually quite creative and funny the way she chose to indicate the sitting arrangements.
10. Individualized Material Bags
This is an example that you can never be too careful with the spread of the virus. This idea of personalized material bags is ingenious as the kids will not share their supplies and in this way, they won’t be spreading the virus between themselves.
11. Corona Classroom
This classroom looks like it popped out of a quarantine commercial, everything seems so organized and sterilized. I think kids will enjoy their “cubicles”.
12. Rainbow yoga mats
These Yoga mats will definitely add some color in the classroom and at at the same time some much-needed zen ambiance, of course by always placing the mats with some space in between.
If you are a teacher yourself, hopefully, you got some funny and creative ideas that you can try at your own classroom, while if you are a parent, hopefully, you will appreciate the effort and time the teachers put in order to prepare for the kids’ safe return to school.
