It’s true when they say that kids say “the darndest things”.
But what they didn’t say is that the “darndest” things usually come when the tyke’s feeling a little bit more antsy than usual. We’ve all been there, dealing with kiddie tantrums where every inch should be debated and cried on.
However, this kid in daycare is making sure her teacher gets it when she says she doesn’t like “timeouts”.
And no, we’re not talking about crying down the floor with arms flailing. We’re talking about full-blown sassy attitude.
Host and comedian Steve Harvey rolled the clip in his show and opened the segment with these words:
“Some people are born with talent. Some people are born with good looks. In the case of this three-year-old girl that I’m about to show you in this video, some people are born with attitude.”
And just like what Harvey requested at the beginning, we would like to ask everyone to view this clip from a purely comedic level. Just like what Harvey did, take the parent out of you first so you can watch the whole clip without getting “triggered”.
The story goes, this little girl has been placed in time out for some toddler-style disciplinary measures. You can hear her teacher conversing with her in the background but this girl just isn’t having it.
She hated time-out’s with a passion and she’s not afraid to be vocal about it.
The teacher says in a firm but friendly voice:
“You’re in jail and time-out.”
Which the little girl quickly answered with:
“Well, let me tell you.. Listen, Linda.”
Now, the teacher’s name isn’t even Linda. It might’ve been a video or a meme she watched back then or she simply just forgot who her teacher was. Putting that aside, for now, the kid went on to rant about what she thinks about the daycare center.
If it’s because she “drunk” from juice boxes or consumed a tad bit of sugar, she still managed to pull out what most teachers might be feeling at that moment.
In full spice, she says:
“Look, let me tell you something. If I wasn’t here, I would surely take a day off from you and then a day off from these kids. All around the classroom, I was done with you!”

Then she folds her arms and puts on a full diva. At this point, you might be gasping at that level of attitude but Steve Harvey asks us once more to frame it in another context.
Just bear with us here for a little bit.
What if you take out the “kid” from her and imagine that this is your friend who downed one drink too many.
Imagine them slurring, wobbling, and talking to every stranger while switching conversations from “I don’t take crap from anyone” and “You’re a queen, honey!”
She’s so “drunk”, she’ll leave you wondering where she pulled “Linda” out from. She’s even looking at the teacher with eyes that scream “What do you mean you’re not Linda?”
“Linda”, apparently, was taken from another viral video that became slang and an internet meme. In the video, a young boy was arguing with his mom and was asking her to stop and just listen.
He kept on saying over and over, “Linda, Linda! Listen to me!”
The viral video racked a whopping 28 million views but also elicited mixed reactions from people. And while these kids may have stepped on the wrong foot to plead their case, there’s one thing we can all agree on – at one point in our adult lives, we sounded just like them.
To end her rant, this girl finishes it off with:
“Well, when I get up out of time-out and go in the back, I will be glad to go home and enjoy the rest of my life.”
