Everyone has one food that makes their heart skip a beat.
For some, it’s the rich allure of a chocolate cake, while others might pledge their undying love to pizza (I’m definitely in that camp).
But, have you ever stopped to think about the very first time you tasted your all-time favorite dish?
Chances are, like most of us, you don’t remember.
However, one lucky mom captured her baby’s first experience with ice cream, and the footage is nothing short of delightful!
One day, California resident Brittani Jernigan decided to treat her family to some Baskin-Robbins.
Along for the ride was her nine-month-old daughter, Blakely, who had never before experienced the cold, sweet taste of ice cream.
Little did she know, she was about to have the best experience ever.
The family settled on a table inside the ice cream parlor, with a towering cone of Baskin-Robbin’s “Gold Medal Ribbon” flavor in tow.
For those who don’t know, it’s a heavenly mix of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, with a luscious caramel ribbon.
The stage was set for Blakely’s grand introduction.
As the video rolls, we see Blakely, cradled in her father’s arms, ready to give it a try.
She leans in, taking her first tentative lick.
There’s a pause, a brief moment of reflection as the new sensation dances on her taste buds.
And then, it’s as if a switch flips!
Blakely’s eyes widen in amazement, her little hands instinctively reaching out to claim the ice cream as her own.
If she could articulate her feelings, she’d probably exclaim, “Why have you been hiding this magical treat from me all this time?”
She was just getting started.
Not content with just one taste, Blakely dives in for a second helping, much to the amusement of her parents.
Their laughter fills the air as they watch their daughter’s newfound obsession unfold.
Even when her dad playfully suggests she let go of the cone, Blakely’s grip remains unyielding.
After all, who in their right mind would willingly part with such a treat?
Blakely’s third bite is just as enthusiastic as her first.
It’s evident she’s found her new favorite food, and she’s not about to let it go anytime soon.
Mom Brittani shared with ABC News,
“We thought it was hilarious, but to be expected with the personality of our daughter Blakely.”
Brittani’s decision to share this adorable moment on social media proved to be a hit, as the video quickly went viral.
The internet was abuzz with comments, ranging from the hilarious observation, “She’s like… ‘Wait… frozen breast milk!!? OH MY Goodness!!!’ 😂😂😂” to the empathetic “RIP TO THE ICECREAM IT DIDN’T HAVE A CHANCE LMAO SHE’S HILARIOUS AND CUTE.”
Many viewers even saw a bit of themselves in Blakely, with one commenting,
