Change is good. Or supposed to be good depending who you ask. Then again change is also a lesson usually learned the hard way as we progress in life. That’s why babies and kids aren’t too keen on getting a “No” or a sudden change in plans. Just ask little Ruby Anne.
This adorable baby girl is the apple of her daddy’s eye. And just like little princesses all over the world, she loves being in her father’s arms as she spends quality time with him. And how do they do that?
Daddy sings to her.
In fact, Ruby Anne has gotten so used to her dad’s voice and face that it has become her routine to sit on his tummy just to hear him sing. And sing he does!
“Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children
Of the world”
Such a sweet song too. Dad’s version is very upbeat and you can sense how he’s trying not to be too bubbly else he squeezes her because of how cute she is. He sings with so much love in his voice. With a full beard like that you’d think he was a rock star!
Ruby Anne could and probably would spend hours on her daddy’s lap if possible.
That is until dad starts singing with a towel wrapped around the lower half of his head. Ruby faces the camera with a puzzled look on her cute face that even her father had to call her attention many times.
The moment Ruby looks back at him, he takes the towel off his face exposing a clean shaven look with a huge smile for her. Look at Ruby stare back.
She’s so confused, the poor baby!
A good how many seconds later, dad lifts her closer and gives his daughter two sweet kisses on her rosy cheeks. That did it. Little Ruby Anne bursts into tears at the strange looking man holding her. Poor baby!
But it’s just daddy!
He tries to reassure her that it’s him by letting Ruby hear his voice, but try as he might she won’t stop crying. She wants her bearded father back! And to get her point across, she looks at the camera with tears flowing down her lovely face. He asks,
“You remember daddy?”
He tries to sing the same song to her but she goes on crying, each wail getting louder as she struggles to grasp the concept that the man holding her is still her father minus the beard. She does not like this change!
Ruby Anne just has to get used to it just like many changes that will happen ahead in life.
Ten minutes later and she was fine.
She must have realized that even without the bushy beard, daddy is still daddy and he will sing to her and cuddle her and shower her with his love all the days of her life. That’s right he will, Ruby!
It doesn’t matter if Ruby is one or thirty-one or even forty-one. Whenever she needs her dad, he will be there singing to her assuring her of his presence all the time.
