This adorable baby can’t seem to make up his mind. Caught between fear and hysterics, he just switches from wide eyed terror to open mouthed glee in a span of a second. His name is Emerson and is only five and a half months in this video.
Blue eyed baby Emerson is at that age wherein he is a sponge. He is now absorbing anything and everything around him, hence his reactions to mom’s nose blowing. And it is downright hilarious!
He’s a giggly one!
The moment mom blows her nose, little Emerson gives a little jump complete with flailing arms. They’re short arms but still. His face is one of pure fright at the weird sound mom’s nose just produced.
He stares at his mom trying to process what just happened in his head when… He bursts out laughing. We’re talking the type of laugh where he’s gasping for air too!
Such a bubbly boy!
Emerson wasn’t quite done when mom began to blow her nose again. In the middle of his giggling, this adorably hilarious baby boy stops and gives a startled jump with his now signature big eyed stare of terror.
Mom stops her snot spewing and after a second or two, Emerson explodes again in laughter. He has some of the funniest facial expressions for a baby.
On the verge of tears.
But not quite. This boy rolls back in laughter, almost gasping for air again, his baby blue eyes full of life as he expresses his obvious delight at mom’s weird noises. Good thing he can’t fall backwards!
Brainy boy!
It’s at five months where babies are becoming more aware of the sights and sounds around them. They’re still trying to make sense of all the new sensations along with the corresponding emotions that go with processing the world around them.
That’s why Emerson is seated in his walker! All those colorful toys that make odd sounds are prefect for him!
“Does mommy’s nose scare you when I blow it?”
Mom asks her bundle of laughs.
Emerson gives a sort of nod and smile in agreement reaction which mom takes as do it again. Which she does. Emerson gives another wide eyed stare and this time literally jumps back in surprise at mom’s blowing.
His constant switching from startled and scared to exploding giggles would definitely make anyone’s day. He is enjoying mom’s company while exploring his developing reactions and awareness at the same time.
Strong at five!
Look at the way he moves when he laughs. Emerson is able to control his arms and head all while reacting to mom’s nasal blasting. He’s reaching milestones and smashing them!
Babies at five to six months are capable of belly busting laughs and they will laugh at the most unfamiliar sounds. Just make sure to laugh along with them. And be prepared to do the cause of their laughs over and over and over again.
Emerson won’t remember this particular funny interaction, but for mom, this was a moment in life that she will never forget. And all it took was some nose blowing.
