Cutting kids’ hair is not that easy. One has to be playful, patient, and imaginative.

There will be times when kids aren’t in the mood to have their hair trimmed.

Kids can cry, scream, or just say no. The barber should be imaginative and playful, with colorful toys, cartoons, and sometimes, even treats.

But there is one barber who gave more than that.

Sheree Bethea from Atlanta proved to her customers that with patience, love, and understanding, she could get the job done.

Bethea is quite famous in her community.

She’s known as “Ree the Barber.” Her work is always great, and she’s also kind.

Last January 08, 2022, a mom of a young boy with autism posted their experience with Ree the Barber that quickly went viral.

“When your kid is on the spectrum, people don’t want to be bothered,” Dr. LaQuista Erinna posted on her Instagram.

The sad reality is that when someone belongs to the spectrum, people treat them differently. Most of the time, the kids get the most hurtful judgment from people.

We all have bad days, and kids who belong to the spectrum have them too.

It’s just normal for them to have meltdowns, but people who lack understanding would think they are just acting up.

Little Jackson is a regular in Ree the Barber’s shop. LaQuista would bring earphones for JackJack so he would be distracted while he’s getting a haircut because the little boy didn’t like it.

Whenever he gets a haircut, it overstimulates him and it was hard for the little boy.

“She’s always been so patient and kind to Jack-Jack. Yesterday was an epic meltdown. I usually have to do some coaching to get him in the chair. He will put on his headphones, and we power through,” LaQuista added.

What surprised LaQuista was that the barber didn’t tell them to go home and just come back. Instead, the kind and loving barber thought of a great plan.

“Ree noticed his Super Mario bro hoodie (he’s low-key obsessed) and told him that he needed to save Mario by making sure no hair gets on him,” she continued in her post.

Little Jackson loved the idea!

It was an adventure, and true to her word, Ree made sure that no hair got to Mario. She would cut his hair, and then they would run around, making sure Mario was safe.

We can see in the video that Jackson was trying to remove some of the hair from his beloved character.

Watching them melted LaQuista’s heart.

“She cut his hair while he moved and ran around the shop. His smile at the end was priceless,” she ended her post.

True enough, you can see how Jackson enjoyed their little game, and as for Ree, her patience was amazing.

You can clearly see how she loved what she was doing and how much she treasured little Jackson.
