In Depth Review And Process

As moms (or expecting moms!), we need to support our body as well as we can during (and after) pregnancy. With all of the maternity belts out there, I wanted to test a bunch of them and report to you which one is best. It can be kind of intimidating when you look for a pregnancy belt because there are so many options – some more expensive than others.

I started by checking a few of the top sellers across the Internet (on Amazon and elsewhere) and reading a lot of reviews – I came up with a short list of five maternity belts that I ended up testing. After a few months of testing them, I decided to rank them according the following categories.

  • Support
  • Comfort
  • Ease of Use
  • Return policy / warranty
  • Value

Overall, the best pregnancy pillow I tested by far was the CoCozy Adjustable Pregnancy Support Belt. It was just by far the best one (but more on that, later!).

Is It Worth It To Consider Pregnancy Belts Under $20?

I personally do not think it is best to consider the options under $20. These options are usually made of cheaper materials that can irritate your skin (or worse, even your baby!). These options also usually have weak, lower quality velcro that will lose its stickiness over time. You definitely want this band to last for enough time — so make sure that you invest in a good quality one (and a good quality one doesn’t have to break the bank!).

You can also use a higher quality band for multiple pregnancies, whereas a lower quality one might break sooner.

The Bottom Line

This pregnancy belt is is the top of the top, crème de la crème. As I progressed in my pregnancy, I found that there was too much strain on various parts of my body, and this pregnancy support belt was a godsend

I enjoyed using the CoCozy belt the most thanks to a couple of four key reasons:

  • It’s insanely comfortable – I wore this all day without any issues. The fabric felt amazing on my sensitive pregnancy skin (you can even wear it under your clothes and it doesn’t feel scratchy or itchy against your skin). Also, the scratchy part of the velcro faces out, so it will not scratch your skin.
  • It provides consistent support – this goes without saying, but you’re getting a band to help support your belly. This band accomplishes just that – you’ll find that you can walk around all day using it. It is large enough in the back that it actually “grips” your back and helps support your belly (and baby)
  • It looks good – this is such an under appreciated component of pregnancy belts! A lot of the ones on Amazon just don’t look that good – this is a belt that I felt like I could wear with confidence (below or over clothes)
  • It’s easy to use – if you take a look at lot of the contraptions out there, they’re so complicated to put on. I love this one because I can strap it on and off so easily.

This pregnancy belt is seriously a case of you get what you pay for – with high quality materials, an innovative shape, and incredible customer service and experience, this pregnancy support belt is the best option if you want more support!

Provides support
Not super expensive

CONS
X
Not comfortable for extended periods

The Bottom Line

I liked this band because it does provide a good amount of support, but didn’t find that it was the most comfortable to use for a long time. The material is very harsh on your skin, just look at what Amazon reviewers are saying:

That being said, it is still a solid option at a reasonable price. Definitely could be worth a try if you don’t mind the fabric feeling weird on your skin!

PROS
Fully adjustable
Excellent lower back support
Won’t slide or roll with movement

CONS
X
Support for standing only
X
Bulky design

The Bottom Line

This maternity belt is designed to lift the belly to ease pressure, assist with weight distribution, and serve as a back brace for low back pain and support. It is fully adjustable with two velcro panels over the belly and two more under the belly and it’s made from thick, stretchy material that won’t slide or roll with movement.

This belt is particularly good for pregnant people who have to do a lot of standing throughout the day, but it is not designed to offer support while sitting as it has to be unhooked in order to sit safely and comfortably.

CONS

Doesn’t provide the best support

The Bottom Line

Knit, super-breathable and lightweight, the Blanqi® Everyday Belly Band offers discreet compression that helps support your back and ease discomfort. The moisture-wicking, fast-drying fabric is great for keeping expecting Mama’s cool and comfortable. The sizes are slightly limited — small and medium are combined, as well as large and x-large; but the impressive stretch should help many Mama’s find a great fit. Because it’s not as structured, we’d recommend trying the Blanqi earlier on in your pregnancy.

PROS
Provides pelvic and back support
Soft stretchy breathable fabric
Offers great compression

CONS
X
One-size-fits-most design can be somewhat limiting
X
Getting the fit right can take a bit of tugging

The Bottom Line

During your pregnancy, it is not uncommon to run hot most of the time, so you definitely do not want a maternity belt that makes you sweat even more. This particular belt comprises a strong, stretchy fabric that provides compression and support (and is even breathable!).

It’s designed to wrap around the belly and back, lifting the tummy and relieving pressure in the lower back area with an adjustable velcro strap. Since it has a one-size-fits-most design, you should be able to adjust the belt to accommodate your growing belly throughout pregnancy.

The Bottom Line

It is common during pregnancy to suffer from weakened pelvic muscles. This product has double going bands has gentle compressions and offers sturdy support for your pelvic floor — and most importantly, it doesn’t sacrifice comfort. You are easily able to adjust each groin band so that you can place them where you need to. This breathable neoprene also provides support to your hips and back and does not constrict your skin or make you overheat. Highly recommended for any Mama’s who might need extra support for their pelvic pain.

Small

The Bottom Line

Basic, but dependable (ish). The Curad Maternity Belt rests under your growing baby bump to help relieve pressure from your back. The belt also features a clever “anti-roll” design that ensures the belt stays securely in place on your growing belly. It’s wearable under clothing, but not as discreet as the Cocozy or Blanqi® options. Some users complain that it is too small.
