After a prank gone horribly wrong, a Texas teenager temporarily took on the role of a squeaky dog toy.
Jonathan Serrano was having fun with his mother at their Montgomery home when the event occurred.
In an effort to “annoy” his mother, the 13-year-old kid was chewing on a dog toy when she “jokingly made a slapping gesture with a soda bottle.”
It resulted in an unthinkable incident.
He unintentionally swallowed the plastic squeaker when he ducked.
In an effort to get the small squeaker out of his body, his mother Mary Serrano hurried him to two hospitals.
Somehow, the plastic piece got lodged into his esophagus and he needed help ASAP.
But what’s funny are the sounds he made.
He turned into a squeaky toy.
The adolescent can be seen squeaking in a video made by his mother Mary Serrano earlier this year while waiting in the emergency room at the Conroe Regional Hospital.
Despite what happened, the duo was doing okay.
When Mary asked her son if he was OK, her son laughed and the high-pitched squeaking sound that he produced is just the funniest thing ever.
The video spread like wildfire.
The video, which has now become popular on TikTok, made a lot of people chuckle online.
“He was like the king of the hospital,” Mary recounted. “All of the doctors and nurses would go in there and be like, ‘Hey, can you make the noise for us?'”
He was an instant celebrity.
According to Mary, when the incident happened, Jonathan was supposed to be getting ready for a Boy Scout camping trip.
He was bothering her with the squeaker instead of packing, so she feigned slapping him with an empty pop bottle.
He swallowed the toy when he dove to avoid the bottle.
Despite how ridiculous and humorous the video is, Jonathan said he was glad it wasn’t more serious.
It could’ve been worse.
“I was afraid that the dog toy might move to a position that the air wouldn’t go through anymore,” he said.
It would’ve been fatal if that happened.
The teen was put to sleep by medical professionals who then used a scope to extract the toy piece.
Although Johnathan claimed to be enjoying his newfound celebrity status, Mary shared that it didn’t come without a cost.
He missed his much-awaited event.
“Long story short, this was not fun for him because he missed a very important camping trip with Boy Scouts that he was very much looking forward to,” she recalled.
People on the internet enjoyed the video way too much.
“I’m so happy that the young man turned out to be ok,” one commenter wrote. “What could have been very dangerous turned out to be a funny memory that he is likely to remember for the rest of his life. Sometimes life is good like that!”
Ultimately, his family is just glad things worked out for the best.
