Mason and Jaxson Hargraves will need a liter or so of shampoo and lots of soaping but mom Jodi can handle that. She has two boys. These things will happen. And so much more.
Mason is two and Jaxson is three. It’s the age of curiosity, innocence, and exasperating moments for both mom and dad.
Who wants pancakes?
Mason stands in front of mom, hands out, dressed only in his diaper while brother Jaxson stands behind him. Both are caught and having to answer for what they did. Mason has yellow gooey stuff all over his hands, arms, and his hair.
Jodi asks,
“What is that??”
To which the toddler responds,
“Burrer.”
That’s… butter.
Mom interrogates her toddler by asking him, “When does butter go in your hair?”
Jaxson answers for his brother in a manner that sort of puts the blame on Mason. But Jodi isn’t having it. She points out that Jaxson’s got butter on his hands too. Slippery little boy.
Jaxson denies that he put butter in his brother’s hair though. So mom asks him where he put the butter. Little Jaxson says it’s in the fridge.
That’s a lie.
Jodi points out that she had to throw away the tub. What a waste of butter. But what were these two little guys doing playing with butter? It turns out that they wanted pancakes. For Jaxson, pancakes are only made of butter.
So she turns back to her buttered Mason and asks him where the butter went. He comes clean and says it’s in his room. She asks if it’s on the floor or walls. Mason says no but admits that it’s on his bed.
His bed and butter.
Mason can’t answer as to why he washed his hair with butter. Mom closes in with her camera, giving viewers a zoomed in look at her son’s hair. It’s all creamy and yellow. Kid, really?
“I don’t even know how to get that out of your hair.”
Jodi exclaims.
And Mason tries to lift the toilet seat. What on earth…
“Don’t touch anything!”
Says an exasperated Jodi.
Butter and toddlers… Buttlers?
Mason and Jaxson agree with mom that they need a bath. And washing off butter isn’t as simple as it seems. Not to mention she has to do it twice. Double the trouble and all that for pancakes.
At least they admitted to their crime. They were caught with the evidence all over them. So the butter bandits came clean. Well, not yet.
Mom thought the boys were just watching a movie as she went to collect the laundry. When her husband went out for a phone interview, that’s when she saw her boys all buttered up.
Then again, if the toddlers could reach for the butter then maybe Jodi should rearrange the kitchen and the fridge. Mason and Jaxson are at that stage where they will reach out and touch anything they set their mind to. It just turns out they wanted pancakes.
These boys are adorable though, aren’t they? Jodi couldn’t have stayed mad for long. We’re willing to bet that right after that shower and a bit of scolding, Jodi and her husband had a good laugh by themselves.
