“There is one thing Alzheimer’s cannot take away, and that is love. Love is not a memory – it’s a feeling that resides in your heart and your soul.” – Unknown

Hearing that your loved one has Dementia is shocking and heartbreaking at the same time. In an instant, you are faced with the reality that the person who you love and treasure will slowly forget.

Some may think that Dementia and Alzheimer’s will only cause forgetfulness but it’s just one of its stages. Dementia will also cause communication problems, having trouble completing tasks, and even changes in one’s personality.

What’s heartbreaking about this is that you will see this person suffer. The person who you love slowly fights to hold on to his or her memories. All we could do is love them, take care of them, and understand them when they’re confused and lost.

Despite the trials, Olivia and her husband, Nick, found out that they’re expecting their first baby. Excited, Olivia decided to tell the good news to her father, and she decided to record her father’s reaction.

Olivia and Nick have been trying their best to conceive for the past three years, and Olivia’s father had witnessed the couple’s challenges.

In a viral TikTok video, we see Olivia and Nick go inside a room asking her father some questions – checking if he can comprehend and remember. It was a good thing that he was able to recognize them. That’s their cue to tell him the good news.

“I’m pregnant,” Olivia tells her father.

The sweet man can’t help but cry. He may not remember the details or the hardships that Nick and Olivia have gone through, but guess what? His heart knows!
