Parents will always go the extra mile to make their children smile.
It’s not just a part of “the job,” it’s what makes parents happy. One of the best things about being a parent is seeing your kid full of genuine joy. Though the thought of being creative or silly enough to make your children laugh can be intimidating, it’s much easier than you think.
Every parent wants their child to take pride in who their parents are. For a while, being a “cool parent” will be all that matters to kids. But as children grow older, they realize what matters is the effort parents put in and simply being there.
It’s about showing up. Those are the moments that we all remember and look back on with fondness.
In one video, there are four lucky children who will have something hilariously heartwarming to look back on when they get older. Though they might view it as embarrassing for years to come, that will eventually fade away.
Pride will set in and the kids will happily recite, “that’s my mom/dad.”
Four fathers came together to perform a rendition of Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s, Swan Lake.
The ballet is immensely popular and has been performed many times over the years. But this version just might take the cake. Well, at least a slice of it!
The dads are performing at Lincoln Elementary School’s, Wyckoff Dad’s Night, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. In fact, the night has become so popular, it even has its own website!
The website details that the night is a full 90-minute show full of silly skits, songs, and commercials. In 2008, they had over 60 dads perform! That was only its 8th year putting on the event!
But the organizers know just how much Dad’s Night means to them and to the children.
“You can only imagine the delight in your child’s eyes when you walk out on stage. To them, you become a superhero. You can do no wrong. If you want your child talking about you for the next 6 months, get up on stage and have some fun.”
That’s what these four dads did! The first two dads tiptoe across the stage like skilled ballerinas while the two following walk out with hilarious confidence. The children and parents in the crowd cheer loudly as the dads appear.
The fathers grab hands and immediately begin prancing across the stage in unrhythmic, poorly coordinated movements. It’s hilarious and the kids are getting a kick out of it.
Cameras flash repeatedly as the dads make their way back and forth across the stage. The crowd is so loud, they can be heard over the music.
While moving across the stage is nice the real crowd-pleaser is their attire. The men are wearing full ballerina outfits, seemingly designed for women. But instead of wearing tights, they have on long, white, socks.
Truly, their outfits are amazing.
They’re also wearing some sort of white veil headdress on their heads. Clearly, much thought was put into their outfits.
The dads switch things up by running in place. They’re still holding hands, of course, so they’re doing the best they can. The running then turns into jumping which looks to be tiring. After all, ballerinas do have to land gracefully and have their feet planted in a certain way.
But it wouldn’t be complete without some ballerina turns, which they do remarkably well. The dads then end the routine by falling down onto their knees. The crowd goes wild with cheers and claps from the community.
What a night! Great job, dads!
