A wedding is meant to celebrate the love of two people and families coming together. A lot of that message gets lost when the guests take one look at the bride. Dressed in white, subtly demanding attention is one thing that people remember most about a wedding, but not at this wedding reception.
The bride’s daughters are the ones that stole the show.
The girls make their way onto the dance floor, the oldest pushing her disabled sister in her chair. In that moment, you know that whatever is coming next is going to be beautiful- no matter what it is. The oldest begins her routine to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri.
The music choice is perfect for the dance. The daughter begins a flawless, moving dance to the song as her sister remains on the floor with her. You would think that this would create a sort of barrier between the two, but the oldest is always sure to include her sister, only if its a turn here and there.
You can tell that the wedding guests are absolutely captivated. There isn’t a sound the entire performance and every eye that you catch from the sidelines looks teary.
The dance continues on. The oldest is clearly talented, including jumps, floor turns, and other precise movements to the song. Though she is the only one moving she is sure to include her sister in every way possible. Her chair is decorated to match the colors of the wedding, and she is just as beautiful as the bride is a soft pink dress with a flower crown and crisp white shoes.
This sisterly bond that these two have is something special.
For anyone watching who has sisters, you know that it’s a special kind of relationship no matter what. The fact that her sister is disabled doesn’t affect the love the oldest sister has for younger sister in any way. The two are dancing together as though there are no differences between them, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness, whether you are at the wedding or watching from YouTube.
The sisters wrap up their performance by bringing the bridesmaids onto the dance floor with them and they link arms and sway as the song draws to a close. Just before the video ends we see the bride and groom run up to their daughters and give them a squeeze. The dad kissing his disabled daughters hand over and over again, makes anyone who wasn’t crying before that moment, definitely crying after.
