Sometimes you need to be resourceful. When hunger rears its ugly head and your favorite snack is just out of reach, don’t get discouraged or settle for a sippy cup of juice.
Use the resources at hand to finally reach the good stuff that lives inside that large metal tower in the kitchen.
And what better way to reach the top than with a buddy?
It’s so easy a baby a baby could do it. (With a dog’s help, of course.)
In a viral video posted to Facebook, 2-year-old Maverick and his dog Leroy pull off an elaborate sting operation to acquire some necessary items from the family’s refrigerator.
This dynamic duo isn’t afraid of a challenge. Mom, Carrie, starts filming the two masterminds but doesn’t realize the depth of planning and preparation that has gone into this attempt.
When Maverick actually opens the fridge door, Carrie surprisingly says, “Oh!…it opened.” She seems a little shocked by her baby’s strength.
“Is that all you were using Leroy for?” – Carrie says in the video.
It’s all so close Leroy can smell it.
Maverick and Leroy breach the lower shelves of the fridge.
With the camera still rolling, Maverick goes for the gold as he places a knee on top of Leroy.
Leroy plays an invaluable part in the plot.
Leroy is standing firm in his decision to help out his pal. He doesn’t seem at all perturbed by the tiny foot that is now climbing on his back and closer to the food.
Maverick’s reaction to being eye-level with the fridge food is hilarious. His tiny ‘Ohhh’ seems to say, “so that’s where you keep it!”

The toddler then hoists himself up using Leroy as a stepping stool. The tiny baby’s weight doesn’t seem to phase the adorable basset hound.
Maybe he is hoping something falls out and into his mouth. A dog can dream, can’t he?
Leroy is getting restless.
The video shows the tiny baby checking out the fridge goodies while Leroy inches his nose up toward the baby. He clearly wants to be rewarded for his part in the plan.
Leroy out.
Leroy seems to realize that his buddy is too mesmerized by the bottles of ketchup and the shiny lights of the fridge to remember why they are there in the first place.
The disappointing reality of no falling food is reason enough for Leroy to make his escape. He is hoping that Maverick won’t notice.
It’s all fun until someone leaves you hanging. Maverick hangs on and isn’t at all phased by Leroy’s hasty departure. He just uses his tiny yet super strong arms to keep him at eye level with the fridge food.
Maybe there is still hope he can grab something before mom gets him. Carrie laughs in the background and quickly goes to grab the curious toddler.
The viral video has the internet laughing. With over 1.2 million views, this fridge heist is one we won’t soon forget.
