Everyone has heard of Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock”. The song, written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, became Elvis’ first hit when it was featured in the 1957 movie of the same name.

Jailhouse Rock is, first and foremost, an extremely catchy pop song. With just a hint of the blues, people just couldn’t get enough of it. Although it wasn’t Elvis’ most loved song of that year, it still managed to climb the charts.

The iconic movie, “Jailhouse Rock,” features Elvis himself, playing the role of a wrongly convicted man who becomes a superstar when he’s finally released from jail.

In one famous scene, the prisoners – led by Elvis – all put on a captivating song-and-dance performance.

Although it’s 60 years old, this iconic scene is so famous that it’s still being recreated today.

You’ve probably seen many routines inspired by “Jailhouse Rock,” but have you ever seen it being performed by a group of 4-year-olds?

If you are somehow unfamiliar with Elvis’ routine, you just need to know that the singer and the inmates – who are dressed in the typical black and white stripes – sing, dance, and play saxophones along with the song.

In this school play, five little boys dressed in prison stripes stole the stage.

The boys take their places and the music begins to play. It’s obvious that this is going to be an unforgettable show!

Elvis starts singing, and the little performers raise their arms and point with the beat – right to left, right to left. And when the chorus begins, they wiggle and sway in the most adorable way.

While the boys wiggle their hips, there’s one boy at the back who stands out. It looks like he has a natural sense of rhythm that makes us think that there must be some dancing genes running in his family.

And it’s so cute that he’s taking his role so very seriously.

But the adorable butt-wiggling isn’t all that the cute quintet brings to this performance.

Deviating from the movie scene, a boy runs onto the stage – he’s kitted out like a police officer, with the tie, cap, and shirt.

The crowd erupts as the “cop” puts a stop to the wiggling and motions for the “prisoners” to line up with their backs to the audience and their hands on their heads.

The little “police officer” turns his head around and looks at the audience while the other boys start to wiggle their hips again. The crowd goes nuts with whistles and applause.

The boy playing the role of the cop runs from one side of the stage to the other, acting frustrated. But by now, the audience knows who they’re rooting for. Even if they finished the routine now, everyone knows that it’s in the bag.

But the boys are not finished yet!

The prisoners turn to face the crowd and hold hands. The police officer takes his place in the middle. But one of the “convicts” slides onto the floor and grins from between the officer’s legs.

The boys begin to wiggle their hips again. This is what the crowd has been waiting for, and everyone goes wild!

When the next verse begins, all the boys get onto the floor and begin to bust some breakdancing moves. Granted, the moves are quite basic, but whoever choreographed this routine did an amazing job!

When the breakdancing is over and the kids are back on their feet, they form a conga line with the officer at the head. They conga across the stage and disappear through the curtain.

But when they come back to bow and wave, they receive a standing ovation!
