You never can predict when you’ll be in the right place, at the right time. One little girl found this out at just four-years-old, when she helped save the lives of an entire family.

The following story is quite incredible, and it proves that kids can become heroes too.

It all happened in the suburbs of Boise, Idaho. A place where nothing usually went on. Life was typically peaceful.

But that all changed when Sean Moran took his two daughters on a bike stroll through the neighborhood. While most of the time, Rosie had a peaceful evening, on this night, she experienced something she’ll never forget.

“She was cruising along,” Sean said. “A little bit further ahead, then she comes speeding back to me.”

Never would Sean have believed what his young daughter would say next.

“Daddy, Daddy, there’s a fire on one of the houses,” She told him.

So, Sean quickly drove up, following Rosie, and sure enough, right around the corner, there was black smoke coming from a neighbor’s home. He yelled to them,

“Hey, you know your house is on fire?”

Ernie Ortiz, his wife, and his daughters were inside.

Surely Ernie smelled the smoke as he stuck his head out the door, noticing his neighbor’s panicked face. The family had no idea their home was about to be burned to ashes.

“We were just sitting there waiting for Maria to finish her bath,” Ernie told KTVB.

He was watching their daughters while his wife was taking a bath. What a surprise Maria was about to see very soon!

That’s when the two men jumped into action, turning on the hose and getting to work.

Sean began extinguishing the fire while Ernie went inside to get his family. Soon enough, the firefighters arrived to finish the job. Before any true damage was done!

The firefighters were shocked to hear the Rosie was the one to first notice the smoke.

They even awarded her with a little firefighter badge. It’s a small prize for a little hero doing a big job, but Rosie was happy to have it. It’s a token she’ll keep close to her heart for years to come.

Five minutes later, the firefighters say, it would have been a different story.

They had gotten there in time to save the house. But more importantly, to save the Ortiz family.

The progression of the fire was too fast for comfort. While the firefighters extinguished the fire, we know who the real hero is. That’s right, little Rosie really did save the Ortiz family. What a hero!
