Have you ever eaten something you didn’t like, but you also didn’t want the hurt the person who made it for you?
For four-year-old Piper, that is exactly what happened when her mom, Annie Wilkins, tried to make her eat some homemade spaghetti. Annie constantly asked her throughout whether the food was okay and if she liked it.
Piper tried to be so polite throughout by smiling and nodding, but her actions spoke louder than words!
Maybe she just doesn’t like spaghetti or something went wrong when her mom made it, but something is definitely amiss here.
Because Piper tries so hard to be polite by saying she thinks the food is good, we’re guessing that it might be the latter. You can see her poor little face take a turn as if the food is making its way back up her throat—but she tries so hard to gulp it back down.
She really worked every fiber of her being while keeping her composure!
But vomit she did not! She munches down her food like a complete pro—it’s almost like she’s had to do this before.
She gets through a few more bites and a few more. To be honest, it could have been one bite—but for the length of time she takes to chew the food, it seems she is pushing through a whole bowl to show her mom that she truly cares.
Her faces are the most amazingly hilarious thing about this video!
Mainly because she looks completely disturbed by the food.
At one point in the video, Piper looks at her mom like, “Are you really serving me this terribleness mom!?” We can’t help but feel for this little girl as she works so hard not to hurt her mom’s feelings while seemingly working harder to just get through the meal.
Let’s face it—we’ve all been there before!
After her mom uploaded this video on YouTube, it didn’t take long for it to go viral.
People have commented on the original video saying that Piper has so much emotional intelligence, which we definitely have to agree with. Her giggles and her poor attempts to compliment her mother’s cooking all really shows how much she must love her mom. She is already thinking of someone else’s needs ahead of her own!
She seems to already understand the essence of empathy and compassion.
Even though Piper suffered through her meal, her smile stays so captivating.
The fact that she can laugh her way through this negative experience, means she is probably super resilient and positive at her age.
She just seems like a great little human already!
At the end of the video, after all that chewing, gnawing and resilience that she showed throughout, she cutely and sweetly asks her mom for what she really wants: dessert!
After watching this video, we definitely think she deserves it. Although this could’ve been an unpleasant moment for either mom or Piper, the way they both kept a sense of humor about it turned it into an adorable moment. Fortunately, by filming it, we all get to experience it!
