This grandfather could not contain his happiness when he sees his newborn grandson’s name.
Having a newborn brings joy to everyone. Aside from the baby’s parents, grandparents are as happy as you can imagine them to be. In fact, grandparents enjoy the perks of playing and loving their grandchildren without the hard work of being a parent.
No wonder grandparents are so cool!

Mike Sheff, 63, was ecstatic upon learning that his daughter, Jessi Way, had given birth.
He, along with his wife Julie, prepared to visit their new grandchild. Excited to see the new addition to their family, they immediately visited Jessi at Henrico Doctors Women’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Who wouldn’t be excited to see and kiss a newborn?
The video starts as Mike, Julie, and two little girls enter the room. Everyone wanted to get a glimpse of the new baby. Julie then settles one of the girls in the room and goes to see her newborn grandson.
She and Mike looked at the sleeping baby, and you got it right, they both said, “awwww.”
Just then, Julie suddenly looked surprised! She saw the baby’s name tag, and she was in shock! She looks to her daughter as if confirming what she saw, and that is when she nudges her husband so he could see it too.
Mike wasn’t prepared when he saw the name tag: Michael Sheff Way.
He gasped in disbelief, and quickly he was flooded with emotion. The sweet old man started crying! You can see it in his reaction – he was happy, surprised, and touched upon seeing that his beautiful grandson was named after him.
Not just that, Jessi did not just name her son “Michael”, she also added her maiden name “Sheff”. As we all know, when a woman gets married, she loses her maiden name.
According to Jessi, she wanted to surprise her father and wanted to keep the name alive.
Mike couldn’t contain it, he cried, and so did Julie. They hugged each other, and that’s when Jessi cried as well.
It was a very happy moment for Mike and his family. You can really feel the love that they have for each other, and it was all too beautiful.
According to Happily, the touching video took place last 2019, but it was just recently uploaded on their YouTube channel. Now, the viral video already has more than 2 million views.
