Dogs and kids often form amazing bonds. Dogs and their little ones seem to be able to understand each other in a unique way.

They’re able to communicate even if they don’t speak the same language.

Two-year-old Everlee and her pup Duke are a great example of this.

According to their Youtube channel, the two of them, “…have been inseparable since the day Everlee was brought home from the hospital.” Listening to the conversation between the two of them is heartwarming (and loud).

This bond is unique. Due to her epilepsy, Everlee is speech delayed. She has a difficult time forming words. The bond between her and Duke is so strong, that he taught her how to make sounds.

As you can see from this video, Duke is a very good teacher!

Are huskies usually this vocal? The short answer is yes!

Although huskies don’t actually talk since they don’t have vocal cords like humans, they do vocalize. They imitate human sounds and their imitations often sound like words.

Huskies are very social and tend to become even more dramatically excited when humans interact with them while they are vocalizing. Everlee and Duke are a perfect example of this.

Why are huskies so vocal? Huskies were bred as sled dogs. These dogs live in packs and are very social. They need to communicate with each other.

Due to the barriers of snow and ice, huskies learned to be loud so that they could be heard.

Huskies are known to howl along with human babies. They hear their cries as cries for help and try to soothe them or play with them by joining in their howling. Many parents are delighted by this normal huskie instinct. Everlee and her family are clearly thrilled to have Duke bring out Everlee’s howling!

As we can see in this video, Duke has taught Everlee some verbal communication skills. Dogs are often an emotional bridge for children having a difficult time in social situations.

Nonverbal or speech-delayed children can have a difficult time expressing themselves, which makes forming bonds difficult for them. A canine companion will help these children experience true bonding(as we can see with Duke and Everlee).

This learning to bond is important as a child grows. Without knowing how to bond, a child can become bored, lonely, and depressed.

Much research and studying have gone into training dogs to be able to help epilepsy patients. Seizure dogs can be trained to respond to someone having a seizure.

These dogs can act as alarms by barking to alert caregivers when someone is having a seizure.

Some of these dogs are trained to position themselves between the person having the seizure and any hard objects in an attempt to prevent injury. Some of these seizure dogs are also trained to set off an alarm system to get emergency help dispatched quickly.

Amazingly, some of these dogs have even been trained to sense when someone is about to have a seizure and set off alarms.

Huskies are wonderful dogs, and Duke is a great companion for Everlee. He’s taught her so much, and he’s a wonderful friend who will always be by her side.
