It’s incredible to have a best friend.
You could experience life together, such as your first crush, first love, and so much more.
Make it twice as better when your best friend is your twin sister.
Identical twins Rebecca Lawrence and Christina Keefer are best friends.
The 23-year-old girls had always spent their birthdays together; now, even their kids would.
Twins from Pennsylvania made news when both gave birth on the same day.
Lawrence first delivered her baby girl, Raylynn, at 12:07 a.m. on the 25th of May 2023 at the WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.
After 13 hours, Keefer, who was admitted to the next room, delivered her son, Xavian at 1:17 p.m.
What were the odds of twins giving birth to their children on the same day?
Can you imagine the happiness that they brought to their family?
Aside from being born hours apart, the cousins also shared similar measurements.
Baby Raylynn weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces at the time of her birth.
She was also 20 inches long.
While her cousin, Baby Xavian weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces at birth.
He was 20.5 inches long.
Lawrence was due to be induced on May 23rd, so being a supportive sister, Keefer accompanied her.
While she was being induced, Keefer started to feel some contractions.
The doctors advised Keefer to go home but was admitted the next day after her water broke.
Both moms-to-be talked about their experiences since they were admitted to side-by-side rooms.
Keefer kept on asking Lawrence about what she felt. She wanted to be ready.
Damara Jenkins, the midwife who oversaw both girls, recalled that they would be with Lawrence as she pushed, then they would go over to Keefer and would also check on her
“It’s definitely a rarity,” Jenkins told “ Good Morning America.” “I’ve been doing this over 20 years and never experienced that before, so it was a lot of fun.”
Everyone was so excited about the girls giving birth.
It was a fun, memorable, and beautiful experience.
Aside from this rare event, Lawrence and Keefer shared that they are both married and live just about 15 minutes from one another.
They would do things together, and spend their free time together.
So imagine the shock of their lives when they found out that they became pregnant just weeks from each other.
“It was interesting to see the different experiences we were having, like she would have like morning sickness and everything like that, but I didn’t have any,” Lawrence recalled.
They learned a lot from their experiences and they both supported each other as their body changed.
Lawrence and Keefer weren’t just twin sisters, they were best friends.
They didn’t imagine that they would give birth on the same day, at the same hospital, together.
“They were a great support for each other,” Jenkins said.
Indeed, they were.
Now, as they face a new chapter in their lives, both Lawrence and Keefer will surely support one another as they experience motherhood – together.
