In an astonishing twist of fate, Baokou and Baonhia both welcomed little girls into the world on the exact same day, in the same hospital.

Completely oblivious to the fact that the other was just next door.

Adding to the serendipity, they were assisted by the same nurse.

Although their due dates were a mere two days apart, their daughters, Nadalie Xiong and Candra Thao, decided to make their grand entrance a week early, just an hour apart.

The news of their simultaneous labor came as a surprise.

Baokou shared with Bakersfield Now, “I knew that I was going to be in labor and then I told her, and she was like, ‘I’m having pain here and there too, I might be in there with you too.”

And then later on that day, my husband was like, “Oh, I saw your sister next door.”

The babies were born healthy, and the sisters have been supporting each other through their new motherhood journeys.

Baonhia, already a mother of three, is offering her wisdom to first-time mom Baokou.

She expressed to People Magazine her hopes for their children, saying, “I think that me and Julia will try our best to ensure that our children know what a close bond she and I have. Hopefully, they will get to share that as well.”

The hospital staff were just as amazed by the timing of the births.

A shared physician of the twins stated to CBS that she did nothing special to coordinate their deliveries—it was purely coincidental.

“They just had great timing. Very unique timing,” she remarked.

Beyond the incredible birth story, there’s another layer that makes these events even more touching.

Both little girls are ‘rainbow babies,’ a term that symbolizes hope and healing, representing a child born following the loss of a baby.

This term is inspired by the idea that a beautiful rainbow often follows a storm, symbolizing the promise of what’s to come.

The sisters had both experienced the heartache of miscarriage within months of each other before the arrival of Nadalie and Candra.

Baokou opened up to People about the shared experience, “My sister and I went through miscarriages together and that definitely brought us closer.

Being able to see her, being able to have her be there and keeping me together after our miscarriages was something that was very important to me.”

The reunion of the twins in the hospital, following the birth of their daughters, was filled with profound emotion.

“We were just feeling a lot of love and care for each other. We’ve gone through a lot,” Baokou reflected on the experience.
