Some couples consider having a child as one of the greatest blessings they will have in their lives.
They revel in the thought of bringing another human into the world, making him enjoy the journey of existence. And when a child is born, he has his mother and father who will shower him with love every day. His parents will nurture him with utmost affection and care, making him feel like he is the most special thing in this world. And in return, the child is expected to feel the same for his parents.
However, kids undergo a certain phase of jealousy and envy. Whether it is because of sibling rivalry or another kid has a new shiny toy and he hasn’t owned yet, it is a known fact. Even scientists support this citing an example that even as babies, they literally kick up a fuss when someone competes for their mom’s attention like flailing their legs and babbling or worse a high-pitched whiny cry until her gaze returns their way.
But what if your child gets upset when parents show affection towards each other?
In a video uploaded on YouTube, what is expected to be bonding time in this family turns out to be a riot when a little boy won’t let his dad be affectionate to his mom.
This adorable family consists of the father James, the mother Erika, and their first-born Jameson who is not so fond of his dad.
Jameson is upset that daddy is stealing his mom’s attention and love.
Jealousy is a normal reaction to anyone who threatens a social bond. And for Jameson, daddy is a huge and serious threat that needs to be taken care of. So he tries his best to chase away his dad in every possible way and in every chance he gets. He just won’t allow it.
Whenever he sees daddy trying to kiss or cuddle with his mom, he throws tantrums saying mommy is Maymay’s only. His priceless reactions always earn him fits of laughter from his parents, seeing how protective he is with his mom.
But what does draw out this kind of emotion from kids?
Some studies say the kid probably has more attachment with one parent than the other. It could also be that they feel neglected hence the reaction. Or they just find showing affection between parents is disgusting and gross. At this age, they aren’t good at showing feelings yet and are unaware of many things related to expressing love.
With these being said, it doesn’t mean Jameson doesn’t love daddy. Despite his jealousy, he truly loves them both.
As long as daddy maintains a safe distance from mommy, that is, they are the best buddies. Later on, the little mister agrees to play and have fun with them.
His jealousy is just a phase that will eventually disappear on its own, along with the guidance and assurance of both of his parents that he is loved and cherished.
We all know that videos about kids or babies being adorable and silly have big potential to go viral and this clip is no exception.
After Erika uploaded the video on her YouTube account, it has already amassed more than 4 million views.
