Have you ever felt convinced you were right about something, despite what someone else said?
It’s of course happened before! Perhaps it happens all the time too (not that we like to admit who was actually right in these situations).
Fortunately, a quick search on the internet can solve a lot of these little arguments. Whether you’re disagreeing about which actress starred in a movie or whether Pluto is still considered a planet – all you have to do is look it up.
Yet, if an “argument” is between a toddler and parent, those don’t necessarily end so quickly. Just like in the adorable video below!
It’s a counting disagreement that went viral.
The dad in the video is a teacher so he should be a pretty smart guy. But his daughter Aleah is convinced that he’s got something completely wrong – his numbers. Dad crazily thinks that it goes, 1,2,3,4,5. According to her though, it’s really 1,2,3,5. (Seriously, who needs the four?)
Mom’s filming as they’re strolling through the park and captures every moment of their funny counting battle.
Dad tells Aleah, “No, it’s 1,2,3,4,5.” Yet, instead of just listening to dad because he’s older, she decides to stand her ground. She confidently responds, “No, it’s 1,2,3,5!” Aleah’s attitude seems to confirm that she’s not about to let dad “win” this one.
Do you realize who you’re talking to?
The dad’s got a really good point of why he should be the credible one. Like mentioned before he does teach for a living, and last we checked, math is one of the subjects covered in school.
He says to the tiny tot:
“How are you gonna tell me? How are you gonna tell me? I teach this every day!”
While a lot of us might admit our mistake since he is a teacher, not Aleah.
There’s no doubt this cutie pie’s made up of both sugar and spice. Anytime dad counts to five with the “four” as part of the mix, she comes back with “No! It’s 1,2,3,5!” Oh, just wait until she’s a teen, dad!
But will she listen to mom?
Mom decides to jump into the “counting argument” from behind the camera, and of course, she agrees with dad. In Aleah’s mind though, it just means that both of her parents are wrong. She says, “No Mommy, that’s 1,2,3,5!”
Why on earth do they keep trying to throw a four in there…has the world gone mad?
Aleah is so sure that she’s right and she’s got the body language to back it up.
The man tries telling his toddler:
“You’re skipping four, you can’t just leave four out. It’s 1,2,3,4,5.”
You’re gonna have to do better than that, dad.
Leave it to mom to come up with a brilliant solution.
Apparently, Aleah is aware that a “four” does actually exist and she’s able to count to it. So mom says, “Alright, count to four.”
The girl gives it a shot and happily counts “1,2,3,4!” Her mood turns upside down and she’s suddenly excited! She then goes a step further with, “4,5,6,7,8!” Naturally, dad can’t help but respond, “Point proven.”
Nobody likes watching people argue about things. But when it’s a sassy toddler and it’s an adorable argument about counting? Totally different story.
