Being a parent also means that you have to share your child’s love of nursery rhymes – whether you like it or not.
From listening to the top hits to waking up to nursery rhymes, your taste of music will change. After all, our kids come first, even if that means experiencing extreme LSS or last song syndrome.
Just a few years back, a new nursery rhyme took the baby world by storm, and if you can guess what song this is, then you’re a certified parent.
We’re talking about the famous “Baby Shark” song, and who doesn’t know this very popular and catchy nursery rhyme? Once you hear it, expect it to play over and over in your head throughout the day. You’re not alone!
Who would have thought that even Alexa seems to have had enough of the famous kiddie song? A video of a little girl went viral last year when she finally had enough of Alexa.
The cute 3-year old girl and her brother were asking Alexa to play their all-time favorite song, Baby Shark. It should be a pretty simple request, but what happens next will definitely make you think that Alexa is trying to test the little girl’s patience.
The video starts as the cute little girl asks Alexa to play the “Baby Shark” song, to which Alexa replies, “I didn’t catch that.” This is actually very common because most of the time, Alexa will definitely verify one’s request.
Talking with Alexa may be challenging because the device won’t really get your request 100% of the time. Sometimes, this becomes too frustrating, and you might just opt to manually type what you want instead of dealing with repeated verification.
This adorable girl is having the same sentiments that most of us have with the famous Alexa.
Alexa asks the little girl again, “Was that, Play the song ‘Baby Shark?'”
The little girl promptly answers, “Yeah.”
However, instead of playing the song, Alexa asks the little girl again, “I didn’t catch that. Was that, ‘Play the song ‘Baby Shark’?”
Still, the little girl replies with a short “yeah,” but Alexa’s response causes the little girl to slowly lose her cool.
“I think you want to hear the song ‘Baby Shark?'”
This goes on for a while, and we can see that the little girl’s facial reaction is starting to change. Her mom continues to record this frustrating but funny scene, while her little brother keeps himself busy by removing all the things inside the drawer.
The little girl’s patience is actually really remarkable because Alexa’s questions were being repeated over and over again. It only revolves around verifying that the song she wanted to hear was Baby Shark, and if she confirms, Alexa would say that she didn’t quite get the request, and then they’re back to square one.
After a few more attempts, the little girl finally had enough of Alexa, and she just says, “Okay, stop doing that Alexa!”
What do you think happened here? Sometimes, it seems that Alexa is doing things on purpose, just like this one. It even seems like Alexa didn’t want to play Baby Shark in the first place, and that she waited until the little girl just gave up.
Maybe, it was just a glitch? Who knows! Either way, the little girl’s mom can’t stop laughing with what’s happening, especially when she saw her daughter’s facial reaction.
Our heart goes to that poor but super adorable little girl who just wanted to hear her favorite song. We also understand Alexa and all the moms out there who just can’t listen to another nursery rhyme anymore.
Though, we’re pretty sure that even before going to sleep, the song Baby Shark will still linger in your thoughts. Don’t forget to watch this adorable clip, and tell us what you think.
