Reata should put up a riding school for aspiring cowboys and cowgirls. Reata might be small but she is a natural on her pony, Houdini. She is here to show all riders, regardless of age and size, that they can ride their horse or pony frontwards, backwards, and even on the side.
This little girl can put much older riders to shame.
Reata and Houdini make a cute pair. Houdini is so used to Reata climbing all over him that he does not move an inch as she gives an informative tutorial on all the different ways a person can trick ride on their horses.
She starts it off by hanging off the side of Houdini and holding on tight to her saddle.
Most parents would be alarmed but this is a ranch after all.
Parents Tom and Tracy Davis own TnT Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. The ranch not only sells horses but their ranch also provides equestrian lessons as well. Reata and her siblings have been surrounded by horses as long as they can remember.
Listen to Reata’s mother and older sister give helpful hints as they guide Reata along.
Reata starts by hanging off the side of Houdini but it’s clear she wants to show off the whole backwards thing. She climbs onto Houdini and sits on her saddle backwards. Once she is fully seated, she raises her hands in a “ta-da” fashion.
Reata is excited to show her dismount skills since it’s different from the usual.
She jumps off the back of Houdini like it is not a big deal. Reata probably does it all the time. What she does not know is how impressive her skills are, especially at such a young age. It takes guts to pull that off. Getting on a horse itself is already a challenge for most!
Reata moves on to her next trick which is laying sideways on her saddle. It looks to be comfortable for her because she does not move as quickly as she had in her previous trick positions. Who could blame her?
She needs a quick break after all these trick moves.
Reata saves her best for last. She holds her entire body on the side of the horse by only holding onto the horn of the saddle. This trick is not only a very impressive way to ride a pony, but also takes major strength. She is holding up her entire body weight just by her hands.
Reata may be small but she is brave and fierce. She is one tough little lady! She can ride too!
If you are impressed with Reata’s trick riding skills (you should be), then go ahead and check out her second video as well. Reata has grown a year in age and can fully stand on the saddle now. And she still does it with her pony, Houdini.
Watch Reata show off her best trick riding skills in the video below! Don’t try this at home!
