It’s difficult to be away from our loved ones. We always have a hole in our heart when our loved ones are away.
It’s tough enough dealing with this as an adult. It’s even harder for a young child who may not understand what’s going on.
The girl in the video below knows what it’s like to have her soldier daddy leave for a while. But what she didn’t know is that she was about to get a huge surprise while visiting the airport.
Mandy Ensman is the mom of the little girl. One day, she brought her daughter to the airport so they could enjoy watching the planes take off.
The child’s daddy had been away for soldier training, and according to Mandy, she hadn’t seen him since Christmas.
During their airport outing, her daughter had no clue they were actually there for a more exciting reason than watching planes fly away (which she loved to do).
A lot of us are brought to tears watching military homecoming videos, or really any reunion for that matter. Get ready to have your heart melted into a puddle.
Mandy leads her daughter by the hand and then stops her. She tells the girl, “…look right there.”
As the mom later wrote on Facebook:
“Grab your tissues…”
Mandy’s daughter looks for a few moments at what’s in front of her in the airport, yet, nothing seems to catch her eye. But then she spots something…
It’s easy to see the instant she does focus on a beautiful sight – her daddy!
Her face breaks into the biggest smile ever and she excitedly screams.
There’s no holding this girl back.
She takes off running straight into the arms of her father, who’s walking towards them.
He immediately scoops up his baby and she hugs him tight. To add to the sweetness factor, she can’t stop squealing out of happiness.
Their daughter’s reaction is simply priceless.
She holds onto her dad tight and he showers her with kisses.
She seems overjoyed to see him and of course, the feelings are mutual! As we know though, sometimes happy moments lead to happy tears.
The youngster seems so overwhelmed by the surprise that she appears to be teary. Awww, what a sweetheart!
One viewer wrote: “The thing I just saw was the truest and the purest form of love.”
Having your parent, spouse, or loved one away from home in the military would be difficult – to say the least.
When Mandy uploaded the video to her Facebook page, she shared the following message:
“Certainly isn’t easy to be apart, but this is our beautiful life. Every goodbye gets harder but every reunion is that much sweeter 💜”
By no surprise, the emotional reunion’s been touching the hearts of viewers and causing many to need their own tissues (the mom was right!).
Someone wrote on YouTube: “As a single guy I’m totally tearing up. That connection between daughter and father is strong.”
Another person watches the clip when they need a ray of sunshine in their day. “Everytime I’m in a bad mood or sad I come watch this vid and it just does make me feel better. It puts a smile on my face.”
