“Having a baby is a life changer. It gives you a whole other perspective on why you wake up everyday.”- Taylor Hanson
Indeed, having babies will change your life. The nights would be long, but having kids will fill your heart with love.
Kimberly Alarcon celebrated Mother’s day with a surprise – well, make that two surprises.
Kimberly, 37, gave birth last April 25 to their fraternal twin girls named Kenzy and Kenzley. She gave birth at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
What’s amazing is that it’s Kimberly’s third set of twins. All of her multiple pregnancies were naturally conceived.
The couple, along with their newborn twins, went home and joined the other kids.
Kimberly and her husband, John, have 10 beautiful children.
She gave birth to Brittney, 17, Sarah, 13, and Hunter, 10, individually, and then had conceived multiples.
Her first set of twins, Zachary and Zoey, 6. Then, she gave birth to her second set of twins, Oliver and Olivia, 4.
The lovely couple is also fostering 3-year-old King, the nephew of John.
What a lovely family! Conceiving twins is already a rare phenomenon, but to do it three times? How cool is that?
Her last pregnancy was actually with triplets. Unfortunately, she miscarried and lost one of the babies.
Dr. Angela Silber, chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Westchester Medical Center, said that taking care of someone who has conceived three consecutive multiple pregnancies was a first in her career.
“It’s not uncommon to see someone who’s had infertility treatments to have triplets or two sets of twins, but somebody that did not have infertility treatments at all, like Kimberly, and to have three sets of twins back-to-back, is very uncommon,” Silber explained.
It wasn’t all that easy for Kimberly.
Aside from losing one of her unborn babies, she fought with the rush of emotions, body changes, and many more.
Getting pregnant with multiple babies, she suffered from high blood pressure and even fell, causing her to break her ankle.
On top of that, the basement of their home experienced flooding twice.
“I felt like I was pregnant for a year straight,” she recalled. “And it was stuff happening one after another. I’m just grateful that we made it. I just thank God. That’s all I can do,” Kimberly shared with Fox 5.
She’s also really grateful to Westchester Medical Center.
Throughout all her pregnancies, the team of doctors and staff of this hospital took care of her and made her feel that she was with family.
It made everything easier for her.
Being pregnant and giving birth is indeed tough.
But after you see your children, all that pain goes away. It’s amazing how a child can change you for the better, how one look from that tiny baby can give meaning to your life.
That, right there, is pure love.
“All my kids are a blessing, no matter how many, and they’re not perfect kids. We’re not the perfect family. We have good days and bad days. We argue, we have miscommunications, but we’re a family,” Kimberly shared.
