Have you ever promised yourself that once you become a parent, you’ll make sure that you will be updated with the latest trends and become your child’s best friend?

Some of us really want to become cool parents, but somehow, our kids view our actions as embarrassing.

If you can relate to this, you may have either embarrassed your child or planning to.

But we just have the purest intentions, right?

Four years ago, last December 12, 2018, Mandy Remmell and her 10-year-old son, Blake, went to the University of Maryland to watch a basketball game.

There, they got the chance to be featured on the “fan cam” and you’ve guessed it, Mandy showed everyone her talent.

Mandy wholeheartedly lip-synched Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.”

At first, her son, Blake, didn’t seem to mind. It even looked like the child pretended not to know the woman singing.

Unfortunately, Mandy knew better.

She turned to her son and held his chin. It was like she was dedicating the song to him.

Blake pushed his mom’s hands away and even hid his face inside his gray hoodie!

Mandy didn’t mind at all.

In fact, she started dancing along with the song. It was a total performance, and she did well lip-synching the song.

We must say, it looks like she’s a really cool mom.

Blake didn’t think so. It seemed like the young boy wanted to vanish at that moment.

The crowd loved Mandy’s performance! You can hear the applause of the audience and the cheer for her to sing more.

Needless to say, the adorable clip went viral, and guess who noticed it?

A day after the clip went viral; Kelly Clarkson re-tweeted the video and said, “This is my kind of mama.”

“I just started singing because you know, music just kind of makes your soul feel good. Once I see that he’s embarrassed, we kind of keep going at him… But it’s all in good fun, you know, he likes it,” Mandy shared with Inside Edition.

As for Blake, he’s not really that embarrassed.

In fact, according to him, he’s used to his mom’s antics, just like a clip that they shared with Inside Edition where Mandy was seen dancing the ‘worm’ at a wedding last 2017.

“My mom does crazy stuff like that,” shared the young boy.

Fast forward to this year, Blake seemed to have inherited his mom’s energy, as we see him making TikTok videos with Mandy.

Blake shares his mother’s contagious energy.

They dance, share jokes, play pranks, and more. You have to see how the mother and son bond! There is no dull moment when these two are around, that’s for sure!

Kids might think that parents are trying to embarrass them, but in reality, we just want to make them feel that we are not just parents. We can also be their best friend.

Do you agree?
