A fourth grader’s trip to school turns into a sweet friendship with a special bus driver.

A’Delyn Williams, 9, of Texas, decided that this was the year she would board the bus and go to school on her own. This was a huge step for the fourth-grader, who is visually impaired. She had previously been taken to and from school by her mom, Ambrea Raspberry. However, this year she was ready to tackle the challenge all on her own.

Raspberry agreed to let her daughter try the trip to school on her own and was anxiously waiting to see how it went.

The morning her daughter went off to school, Raspberry was so proud of her daughter’s decision that she shared the video of A’Delyn’s first trip on TikTok.

“A’Delyn wasn’t too excited about going back to school because she said she doesn’t have many friends…That’s until she learned I have decided to let her ride the bus as she wished.”

It was a joyful sight when A’Delyn’s mom saw her get off the bus with her bus driver, Mr. Ryan, talking and laughing like old pals. Mr. Ryan even held an umbrella over her head to protect her from the rain. Raspberry made sure to get the sweet gesture on film.

As Mr. Ryan walked A’Delyn toward the house, she loses her balance and says, “I’m clumsy,” Mr. Ryan quickly responds with, “I am too.” They both laugh after Mr. Ryan says, “Two clumsy people can’t walk together!”
