Family planning has never been this important, especially in recent years. Couples want to plan out the number of children they want to have and the gap between each child because it allows them to also plan other life factors. Most of it is from a financial and practical perspective.
Aside from a financial perspective, couples do family planning so they can live their lives with fewer complications or inconveniences. Having too many children might disrupt your daily routine or would require more time from you.
That’s why this couple from Katy, Texas, was shocked during their last pregnancy. They wanted to go for one more kid, and they’re done and content with the number of kids they have. Little do they know that fate had a different plan for them.
Meet the Haglers
The Hagler family’s story is something unique even from the beginning. Patrick and Gaby got married in 2018 and instantly became a family of four. Each had a child from their previous relationship – Kalleigh and Paxton.
Soon enough, the two finally had a child together named Sammy. It was then when the couple decided they would go for one more, and that’s it for them. Having four kids was enough, and they would feel like they were a complete family.
A heartbreaking incident
The couple soon were expecting their fourth child. Unfortunately, Gaby had a miscarriage. It was a heartbreaking moment for the family, and it took them a while to heal, find hope, and try again.
The couple were more careful now and wanted to ensure the next pregnancy would succeed. They took fertility medications this time. On the 12th week of pregnancy, Gaby had her ultrasound, and they found the surprise of a lifetime there.
Blessed four folds
They couldn’t believe it when the doctor told them they were expecting quadruplets! The couple narrated that extraordinary moment to KHOU 11.
“She’s just ecstatic with this counting, and we’re like are you counting limbs? What are we counting here?” Gaby said.
“She said, ‘Wait, there’s four.’ I said four what? She said, ‘Four babies, did you know you’re having four babies?'” Patrick said.
The following months were challenging for Gaby, especially since this pregnancy was high-risk. But the moment she gave birth to the quadruplets, their home was filled with so much love.
Welcome to the world
The family welcomed Adam, Bennett, Coby, and Dane last June 22. It was challenging to handle all four babies, especially when they got hungry together, but the Haglers found a system to work around this efficiently.
Kalleigh and Paxton were old enough to babysit, and they helped their parents with their younger siblings. Plus, there were always people ready to help the couple.
For Patrick and Gaby, the birth of the quadruplets also quadrupled the love. They felt blessed to have all four kids at once, even if it was something they didn’t expect. They also appreciated how sibling love reigned in their home, especially when their older kids stepped in to help.
